An Egyptian actress, born to an Egyptian father and a Hungarian mother in Fayoum in 1933, she received a foreign education from a young age until she obtained her baccalaureate from the German School. Her career towards art began with pure coincidence after she won the French (Image) magazine competition for the title of the most beautiful face, and her European features were perfectly exploited in cinema, and her first cinematic work was in 1951, a movie (Night Love). Most of the roles that she presented, especially in the fifties and sixties, were dominated by a dreamy romantic character, and among these films: (My Heart Reply, Soft Hands, A Tale of Love, Angel and Devil). With the advent of the seventies, the roles of Maryam Fakhreddin diversified more and more, which was evident in films such as (Ya Taheb Ya Qabb, Hazelnut Peel, Sleep in Honey). She passed away on Monday 3 November 2014 after a bitter struggle with illness.
