While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.

I'm not a fan of ghost movies but 100 Feet had some nail biting moments of suspense and is the best ghost movie I've seen in a long time, much better than the Japanese ghost films which tend to rely on creepy children and boo scares. The ghost is scary looking and if that appeared on my ceiling I would claw through the floor to get away. The ghost isn't just an ugly face but viciously attacks anyone that rubs him the wrong way, which is usually his ex-wife being that she was the one who killed him in the first place. Famke Janssen emotes poorly but carries the movie well and generally sells the story. The writing is good with some head scratchers and one really big whopper of a plot hole that plays into the ending and will leave you shaking your head. If ghosts are your thing, worth a look.

Um, honestly I don't even know what to say about this. This is one of the most pointless films I have ever seen. It feels like a whole bunch of random scenes that do not build or develop anything in any way, and then a bunch of stuff blows up and there's fire everywhere. 2 stars for the absolutely ridiculous CGI ghost explosion scene though (Can't make this stuff up). But seriously, that was the movie. And sometimes there was a ghost. The "story" is barebones at best, with no character motivation or development, and virtually no backstory. The character's actions are arbitrary and nothing holds any meaning or deeper purpose. If you didn't read the synopsis you probably wouldn't have a clue what was going on. Just about the entire movie happens within the house, and there are a total of like 3 characters. Dialogue is basic and vapid. Not sure what they spent the budget on because it certainly wasn't the script, the direction, the sets, or the amateur cgi. There really isn't anything else for me to critique because nothing happened. Avoid unless you're trying to fall asleep.

This review contains spoiler, please do not read it before watching a movie. Or I should rather advise DO NOT watch this movie.I like those horrors the most where the horror part is integrated in a seemingly normal, realistic surrounding. In other words, I want these movies to make me believe that this could happen to anyone of us for 90 minutes. This requires in one hand good horror material and ghost stories are always good for this purpose. However, a consistent, realistic background story is also necessary. This movie fails in both.Let's start with the latter. This story is so unbelievable to begin with. Wife kills her abusive cop husband while defending herself she still gets into prison for years. Then she is abused again in the prison so she is taken home for a one-year house arrest. Well, I'm not even close to being a lawyer, but is that seriously possible? Whatever, she gets home and her late husband's ghost appears pretty soon. After thorough research (i.e. reading a single book)she tries to get rid of him. And then there's this horny kid she hooks up with, and the ex-partner of her husband who has nothing better to do than stalking her in 24/7. And some hidden money, and that priest, and that extremely cheesy ending with that ring. The ghost part isn't better either. It seems to be capable of whatever it wants, but it seems it doesn't really want anything in particular. The effects are quite lame for a movie from 2008. I really liked when the woman wanted to beat it up with a baseball bat. Oh, and when the blood started to stick on it...So making a long story short, this movie is an unpalatable, inconsistent, unreal thing, however by the end it made me have these incredulous fascination over the simple fact that this movie was actually done and is available worldwide. Seeing at the end that half of the crew is Hungarian made me feel even worse.

The first minutes of this film don't reveal if it's gonna be a good movie or not. Reading the synopsis we get to think it's just another dumb scary movie, but as the movie goes we can see it is not. In most horror movies involving haunting and entities the characters don't leave the haunted house because they don't believe in what's happening-- that's very cliché. In this movie the main character BELIEVES, but can't leave the house because she is in house arrest. Sometimes we notice it's a scary version of the classic "Ghost", but it doesn't spoil the movie's quality. Special effects are plausible and well done-- considering it's budget, they are actually GREAT. Famke Janssen and Bobby Cannavale are two relatively unknown actors that surprised me with such good acting, I didn't think they'd be this good. Photography is beautiful and story is well written-- with exception of Poltergeist movements from the ghost--, making it hard to believe an independent movie would be so professional. All in all, this is a surprisingly good scary movie that afflicts the spectator, don't miss this picture!
