Reviews

ChampDavSlim The acting is good, and the firecracker script has some excellent ideas.
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Roy Hart If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
Janis One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.
meddlecore 11-11-11 is a pre-apocalyptic horror-mystery, about an atheistic author named Joseph- who suffers a series of tragedies which he begins to notice all orient around the number 11:11.First, a rabid fan of his writing burns down his house on November 11- killing his wife and daughter. Then, he gets in a major car accident which occurs at 11:11. An accident which should of killed him, but which he walks away from without a scratch. Later, when he travels to Barelona to visit his father upon his deathbed, he reunites with his estranged brother, Samuel- a devout, ordained priest. Samuel shows him security footage of an odd mist...which also just so happens to manifest at 11:11. It's at this point that he starts to see demonic-type beings everywhere. Is this all in his head, or is something beyond his comprehension trying to send him a message? He looks the phenomenon up online and finds that other people are in very similar situations. Apparently, if you experience this phenomenon, you have been marked to be the receiver of a message from entities known as the "Midwayers"- who often deliver their messages through hallucinations.Ironically, as he starts to look more into the occult, Joseph becomes more convinced that supernatural causes are responsible for the events in his life; while his extremely religious brother takes on the role of the skeptic. It's only when there father snaps out of his senility, that Joseph discovers why this is all going on. Apparently, Samuel is the Prophet of a new age, and fate has made it his mission to protect him from the evil forces that plan on sacrificing him on 11-11-11...in order to bring about the Rapture.Samuel is a paraplegic, of supposed immaculate conception, and a popular Priest for a dwindling congregation. Considering everything that has been going on in his life, Joseph is ready to buy into all the claims, and will do whatever needs to be done to protect him. However, when it all goes down on 11-11-11 at 11:11...it's not at all how he expected it to be...---SPOILER---...he reigns in the anti-Christ...ha! If you read that spoiler, I wouldn't be too worried about it because this film is mediocre at best. While the demons are pretty cool, I guess (at least they aren't CGI). It's quite simply constructed, and a *flashback of sudden realization* lays it all out for you, in the end...so you don't have to do any of the work thinking about it. But I guess that speaks to the market toward which this film is directed. Gets a "meh" from me.3.5 out of 10.
pocketfoxy Wow, what a scary movie!!! I read so many bad reviews, I came this close to not renting it!! I am glad I didn't let the masses who may have not understood the movie deter me from renting, & what I feel is a genius gem of a religious horror movie. The movie was very well made and the dialog/scrip was perfect and the back drop of the house was eerie! It was cleverly written, and the storyline was completely unique and thought provoking. Darren Lynn Bousman is ahead of his time & is now a respected film maker in my mind.I will watch any and all of his movies. Mother's Day is a must see by him as well! If you love horror, you must see this one, I jumped at least 3 times!
Claudio Carvalho The successful American writer and atheist Joseph Crone (Timothy Gibbs) participates in a support group to accept the death of his beloved wife Sarah (Salomé Jiménez) and their son Diogo. Joe befriends Sadie (Wendy Glenn) in one of the meetings and she helps him when he has a car accident. When Joe's estranged religious brother Samuel Crone (Michael Landes) tells him that their father is terminal, he travels to Barcelona to stay near the death bed of his father. Joe has visions of demons and with the number 11 and he finds that something evil will happen with Samuel and him on 11 November 2011."11-11-11" is a film with a promising premise, but with a messy and disappointing execution. The screenplay is boring and confused; the scary atmosphere with demons repeats several times along the film and becomes irritating; and the predicable plot point is hard to believe, disclosed in very fast pace and annoying. My vote is three.Title (Brazil): "11-11-11"
Timothy Anderson The movies feel and characters are real cold and fairly unlikeable, it all kind of leaves you wondering whats next all the same. The main character is cynical and feels quite sorry for himself, if it were you or I, I'm sure we would feel the same, even still when called upon he mans up to do what is right. Sound effects were good, they would definitely caught you off guard at times. Costumes were'nt to bad either. Acting was fair as well. What seems like is going to happen is where the movie throws you and really caught my attention, call it original if you must, them are so far and few in our time when multiple flix are being redone over and over now or its all layed out for you before the ending, typical. Its a definite see for thoughs out there seeking a horror cult type film, enjoy!
