FuzzyTagz If the ambition is to provide two hours of instantly forgettable, popcorn-munching escapism, it succeeds.
Keira Brennan The movie is made so realistic it has a lot of that WoW feeling at the right moments and never tooo over the top. the suspense is done so well and the emotion is felt. Very well put together with the music and all.
contact-562-20249 French movie (with some English) that doesn't bore you to death with yak, yak while moving at the speed of molasses. A French female architect and a Finnish DJ meet at a hotel, and wind up spending the better part of two days together. What happens when it is time for them to leave, she to France and he to a holiday in Dubai? It is actually worth finding out. Not a chick flick.
expe67 very interesting movie.although there were some similarities with another film i am a big fan of until sunrise, this one was a lot different.the protagonists are older, their experiences more..complex,as age does, their companionship a lot more interesting.i used that word and not just "romance with a plus" which Delpy's encounter with Ethan was.this time it is not just about the excitement of meeting someone and falling in love,by two young full of life lovers.but rather two persons with their inner struggle to find some meaning ,to "fix" life,to find love maybe ,more like a connection ,an escape from their loneliness.as such ,the scenery is very suitable.it is not all romantic places but rather kind of like the scenery of "lost in translation".dark and..lonely.a lot people then none.a lot of moments will come to your mind from your own experiences while looking at this movie.very human ,very ..recognisable.highly recommended, especially for grown-ups.
euroGary This is an enjoyable two-hander set in the Lithuanian capital, Vilnius (which is not the most obvious setting for a romance between a Frenchwoman and a Finn until you realise the film has Lithuanian money behind it).Caroline (Marie-Josée Croze), a French architect, is on her last night of a business trip. Having problems with her long-term partner back in France, she ends up in the bed of Finnish DJ Jaakko (Mikko Nousiainen, best-known internationally for bonkfest 'Levottomat'). It should just have been a one-night stand before Caroline took the morning flight home, but when one of those pesky Icelandic volcanoes puffs another cloud of ash into the air, all flights are grounded and the pair are thrown together for longer.Fans of Richard Linklater's tremendously romantic 'Before Sunrise', in which Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke wander the streets of night-time Vienna whilst talking about everything under the sun, will find a lot that is similar here (although it's daytime and Vilnius). Sharing their hopes and dreams, our two protagonists discover enough about each other that by the end of the film they are clearly considering a longer-term relationship. Strangely, I did not want this to happen: a parting of the ways would have been more romantic, I thought. Croze and Nousiainen are likable and competent leads: I had to smile, though, when Nousiainen describes Croze as being an older woman; of the two actors, he definitely looks the older. Perhaps lose the beard, mate...?
