I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

First off I would like to say the location of the rally was a bad choice. There where miles of fans blocking the Gumballers all across Europe. Which lead to bad road conditions and monsoon rain causing a lot of crashes. They also ran into traffic jams and an unfair amount of police.The constant use of split screen clips showing an 'endless' drive, dries up the excitement of the few entertaining parts of this movie. The editor uses the repetitive clip of Bams lambo doing drifts at least eight times (once was enough).The worst music selection of dwelling music was off set and rather annoying. I want to hear the motor running to rock and roll; not the Symphony playing classical music. I also struggled to hear the voices at times because the audio was not balanced, They only used a few cameras. So the movie is based around the perspective of a couple of guys which the rally went incredibly terrible for them. Making the rally look worse then it actually was. You rarely get to see the other cars, just at checkpoints and after checkpoints. I can say I am a fan of Bam, Ryan and the Birdman. But this is the gumball rally not "jack***". This movie is a disappointment and in no way comparably to any gumball or cannonball movie. I believe Ryan Dunn would call this movie "A Gantlet of sh*t" Go enjoy the 2003 version or the original. This movie could ruin the gumball rally for you.

Okay, this is my first review on IMDb. Never really had the need to before.......until I read Vincent Vega's review. Now, I've watched three other Gumball films and they were crap. The biggest problem being that the Gumball is usually populated by the kind of oxygen thieves that you would delight in executing a proper chin-hammer on, just for being alive. Watching people like that killed the other films stone dead. This one has the late Ryan Dunn, Bam, Tony.....and a few others. Most of the other racers don't get a look in. This is a good thing. What was that about the editing Vince? It's fantastic. Split screen is used to great effect with the excellent music holding it together. There's another thing; the soundtrack by Roxbury is, in my opinion of course, one of the best I've ever heard: Funky, atmospheric and perfectly tuned to the on-screen action. Whatever it is you're smoking Mr Vega.....I never want any. Ever. It isn't perfect entertainment: The last part of the race in America is all a bit too over-familiar and one or two of the featured cast are......quite annoying at times. It's good fun though.......probably because The Cuban Brothers aren't in it. If you haven't seen it yet then it's time you did but if you think that the music is bad and the editing is bad then I'll send you some money so you can go buy yourself a new pair of eyes....and ears.

Having just bought the DVD and finished watching it, I thought that it was a respectable effort and defiantly deserved 7 stars.When I looked at the first review written about 3000 miles, I was shocked and damn right annoyed. I'm talking about VinventVega Who gave the film one star and then proceeded to rant about how bad it was. Let me tell you, it's not bad. It gives a good depiction of the Gumball experience. To all fans of the Gumball rally they should defiantly see this film. In comparison to the other Gumball films, it's on the same par as Gumball 3000: The Movie. If your a hardcore fan of jackass or anything related to Bam then you should see this too!VincentVega made 6 points to illustrate why he has a personal vendetta against this film. Addressing the points I will give my opinion as both a fan of Gumball and Jackass related franchises.1) The direction (if you can call it that) is nowhere to be found.Well the direction of the film is that you go from A in London to B in L.A. In between A and B is all the driving, stunts, crazy antics and skating. The film clearly documents were they are going and what country they are in every time they get to their checkpoints. Remember Vega, This is a documentary which means that it is not scripted, so its direction is dynamic.2) It's badly edited.There is nothing wrong with the editing. Back that up with a cross reference. 3) The soundtrack is worse than that of any random porn movie.I find the soundtrack to be random, because I can not associate it with any specific genre. The music is upbeat and flash. How you can associate the music with a porn flick is your problem.4) The little dialogue there is, is inaudible either because the soundtrack is still playing at full volume (see: badly edited) or because the in-car engine-noise is too loud.Complaining that there is little dialogue is just such a dumb thing to say. This is not scripted; this is real life, what the hell do you expect? Bam reading the works of Shakespeare. When Bam, Tony and the crew aren't doing anything too exciting they are talking to the cameras, filling the viewers in with what is going on. There is enough dialogue in the film for you to understand and enjoy what is going on! As for not being able to hear people talking at times, I can only account for this once. I couldn't hear Ryan Dunn very clearly because the windows of the car were down. The footage was probably added to the movie because what he said was witty. And for complaining about the noise of car engines... Simple answer, you can hear over the engine noise. Dumbass5) The bits that are audible make it abundantly clear that the cast are more talented skaters than comedians. Also, their contempt for the fans lining the streets is despicable.This comes down to taste. Having been a fan of Bam since the beginning of the CKY videos and a fan of Tony since the Pro Skater Games, I have always enjoyed what they have had to say. By saying such an ignorant thing like that makes you sound like a miserable old sod. They are not comedians but that doesn't mean that what they say is not funny, because in my opinion quite a lot is funny. About the comment with the fans, You can only say something like that with Bam, who is actually fed up of little kids coming up to him and asking him for photographs, autographs and what not. He might not want to do them but he still does. When kids are pounding on the windows asking for photographs, if he signs one... then has to sign all of them! 6) For a movie about a 3000-mile road trip, you would expect some nicely filmed driving action. There is none.There is plenty of good driving action. There is some brilliant footage of the Gumballers driving through the Nevada desert among other places.Being a fan of Gumball and jackass, this film was a hit for me. This film deserves a 6/10 at least! Don't let irrelevant reviews deter you from watching this film!

Absolutely everything is wrong with this film. And I'm not even touching the ethics of the rally itself and its participants.1) The direction (if you can call it that) is nowhere to be found.2) It's badly edited.3) The soundtrack is worse than that of any random porn movie.4) The little dialogue there is, is inaudible either because the soundtrack is still playing at full volume (see: badly edited) or because the in-car engine-noise is too loud.5) The bits that are audible make it abundantly clear that the cast are more talented skaters than comedians. Also, their contempt for the fans lining the streets is despicable.6) For a movie about a 3000-mile road trip, you would expect some nicely filmed driving action. There is none.It truly is an achievement to make something that is a lot worse than any home-movie made by your average 18-year neighborhood kids on a road trip would be.Absolutely only interesting for those who enjoy shakily filmed 1 to 2 second snippets of exotic cars going by. For close to two hours.For all others, and especially for true Gumball and other road rally fans, this is torture.Like the summary says, it's much more fun to check out the little movies shot by fans, or by some of the other participants themselves. Much more interesting, much funnier, and MUCH better driving action.Stay clear of this drivel.
