Reviews

Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Nayan Gough A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Beulah Bram A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Haven Kaycee It is encouraging that the film ends so strongly.Otherwise, it wouldn't have been a particularly memorable film
Michael Ledo The film starts out as a great psychological thriller. Cara Harding (Julianne Moore) is a psychologist like her father (Jeffrey DeMunn). She does not believe in multiple personalities. Her dad finds a case in David/Adam (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) that challenges her. She investigates the lives they claim to be, only to discover the impossible. What was unfortunate was that this film moves from a clever thriller to a less than stellar horror film. I enjoyed the mystery aspect of the film. Cara's attempts to prove Dave/Adam as a hoax, blowing up in her face, time and time again was great. Too bad they couldn't wrap it up. Still it is well worth a view.Parental Guide: No F-bombs, sex, or nudity.
solidsnake1983 Now if anybody knows great acting then you'll know that this movie has some top notch actors in it. The film is very invigorating and puts you on the edge of your seat. Now some might say the 1st half was better but quite frankly I believe the whole movie held up to its story. Jonathan Rhys meyers is phenomenal at switching his personalities on the drop and does it convincingly. Julian Moore the doctor who has very little belief in the supernatural is put to the test when the patient named Adam starts to test her beliefs in the unknown. Now you can say the ending which definitely leaves you thinking possibly the evil still exists within another host . Without giving too much away I believe the the actors and the story itself holds up especially when movies now these days are all reboots or remakes. This is a great chilling story of one individual who has 6 souls in his body that some have their good intentions and others some evil. It definitely isn't an Oscar award winning movie but for a horror/thriller this is definitely on the must to watch list and pay close attention. Every detail adds up.
siderite This is your typical ghost thriller. People start dying under strange circumstances, there is a main character who is somehow caught in the middle of this, obviously a woman, has a little child, who is also female, as well as other family connections and she is as representative as they could make her: Christian, middle class, white. However there are several problems that go beyond merely cliché. First of all there is the length, two full hours. Then there is the complete and utter lack of character development. Everyone, and I actually mean everyone, including the main character, are cardboard versions of human beings, robbed of any chance of turning into something else. Worse, as cardboard as they are, they are barely sketched. So that leaves the story: is it thrilling, scary or both? It is none of the above. It is slightly mysterious, I give it that, and the reason for it is that the writing is too confused to teach the viewer anything or let him at least understand what the hell is going on.The ending is the worst part, though, coming immediately after the "reveal", solving nothing and providing only the mandatory opportunity for a sequel. I have no idea why I got this film to watch in the first place, but I strongly recommend to not do the same.
anthonymichaelbangert This movie is a classic case of trying too hard. It tries too hard to be scary, it tries too hard to be unique, and it tries too hard to be good. Julianne Moore stars in this film, as a psychologist who specializes in debunking multiple personality disorders, claiming that nobody has them. Her father calls her in on a case of someone with this disorder, but the more she learns about his "personalities," the more she realizes that he embodies those who have been murdered. She then goes on a mysterious journey to find out why. This movie starts as what should be a good psychological thriller but about halfway through switches to a religious horror film, but doesn't deliver the scares. The story itself seems to have some interesting ideas, just not well executed. The actors in this film are fairly decent as well. In the end, this film suffers poorly from bad scripting, and plot holes more than swiss cheese. In all honesty, I've seen worse, but it wasn't good enough to be in my favorites.
