Reviews

Organnall Too much about the plot just didn't add up, the writing was bad, some of the scenes were cringey and awkward,
InformationRap This is one of the few movies I've ever seen where the whole audience broke into spontaneous, loud applause a third of the way in.
Guillelmina The film's masterful storytelling did its job. The message was clear. No need to overdo.
Skyler Great movie. Not sure what people expected but I found it highly entertaining.
Michael_Elliott 9/11 (2002) **** (out of 4) Powerful documentary about a fire crew that was at the World Trade Centers just as all hell broke loose. I guess this here is the most popular documentary of that day but I just now got around to it. As usual, everything we see going on down there is still shocking and it still seems like it was just a bad dream. The noise of the bodies hitting the ground is a sound you won't get out of your head. There have been countless documentaries done on 9/11 and I find all of them incredibly hard to watch and this one here is no different.
rev1969 Amazing documentary. Saw it on original airdate and on DVD a few times in the last few years. I was shocked that it wasn't even nominated for a Best Documentary Oscar for 2002, the year it was released. No other documentary even comes close. It was on TV recently for the 5th anniversary, but I missed the added "where are they now" segment at the end, except I did catch that tony now works for the hazmat unit.I've seen criticism on documentary film-making from a few on this list. I can't see how this could have been done any different. They had less than 6 months to assemble this and get it on the air. The DVD contains more material and background.I'm also surprised that according to IMDb.com, the brother have had no projects in the four years since. What have they been doing?
shakespearspal 9/11 is a documentary that has revolutionised 'Disaster Documentaries' In regard to camera work and presentation, its not as if the shots could be re-took, it was a case of right place, right time in a film-makers point of view.I however, found the "interviews and comment" with James Hanlon, an abomination, he was like the face of America and American patriotism, it seemed highly staged and terribly rehearsed. The words, amateur actor comes to mind (emphasis on amateur) but all in all, the documentary was highly insightful into the devastating events of 9/11, condolences to all victims families and friends.E Urquhart
foodstampcharlie Great documentary about the lives of NY firefighters during the worst terrorist attack of all time.. That reason alone is why this should be a must see collectors item.. What shocked me was not only the attacks, but the"High Fat Diet" and physical appearance of some of these firefighters. I think a lot of Doctors would agree with me that,in the physical shape they were in, some of these firefighters would NOT of made it to the 79th floor carrying over 60 lbs of gear. Having said that i now have a greater respect for firefighters and i realize becoming a firefighter is a life altering job. The French have a history of making great documentary's and that is what this is, a Great Documentary.....
