Tuchergson Truly the worst movie I've ever seen in a theater
DipitySkillful an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.
Invaderbank The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
robbjacobson A good looking movie about a couple that feels so real that you can't help but look for signs to look for in your own relationships. Great cast portraying a patience-demanding story, but more realistic than any studio romance film you'll see this year.
demarcusothgar Best movie I have seen in a long time. I didn't know they could still make a movie like this in this decade. Gives me hope for our society. It's hard to say quite why this film is so good. It's not the kind of movie that's appropriate to analyze and pick apart. That would be missing the point of the nonspecific candor that makes it what it is. I know this movie has changed me. It reminds me that you can be real and authentic; even in your agonies and damage. It reminds you that the truth is beautiful, always, even when you can't and never will see it. Even mundane life is sad, and sad life is funny and filled with wonder. A movie of enormous heart and emotional color. All the performances are sublime. Lev and Frankie are heartbreakingly real. What a job by the director. I'll be watching this one again for the rest of my life.
ryanbartongrimley 9 FULL MOONS is a really inventive film that is deeply personal and entertaining! As other reviewers mentioned, it focuses on a an unconventional portrayal of a female lead character's attempt to compensate for her loneliness by starting new relationships every new moon. I felt this really gave it a unique perspective that I had not seen before both in tone and story structure. It had a rawness that really stuck with me, making it me forget it was indie, or low-budget. It just didn't matter... 9 FULL MOONS is plain old good! NICE WORK!
Red_Identity I've seen Amy Seimetz more and more these last two years, and I've become a pretty big fan. She's mesmerizing, she has a way to internalize everything that's happening to her and portray it effectively without any artifice or any pandering for obvious emotions. In that way, maybe she won't be an actress that will ever make it big (and I doubt she wants that) but for independent cinema, she's a revelation. She gives her characters so much to really portray effectively, she's a marvel to watch even when she's not saying anything (and that's really what she's best at). She's very great at her craft, and it's nice to know she's not just an actress. This film belongs to her, most definitely.
