Amy Newhouse must now fight the biggest battle of her life - cancer. Her open heart to the people of her school now sparks a passionate rally from the community. However, this passion dwindles as her cancer metastasizes. Her cancer seems to miraculously disappear, but just as it seems the community has prevailed and the battle won, Amy discovers that the deadly disease has returned and is incurable. Amy's prayers for healing continue, but with the seemingly dried-up support of her community, and an apparent "no" from God, she dies from the one battle she cannot win. However, with her death comes life and redemption of Pampa High, as her club grows exponentially, redeeming the school of the once-rampant violence, drugs, and alcohol that she so passionately fought against, and proving to all doubters that God has a "Greater Yes" after all. Actuakers One of my all time favorites.
Pacionsbo Absolutely Fantastic
Micah Lloyd Excellent characters with emotional depth. My wife, daughter and granddaughter all enjoyed it...and me, too! Very good movie! You won't be disappointed.
Jenna Walter The film may be flawed, but its message is not.
williamchairo Yes perhaps, one may quote statistics in regards to the effect that this movie had on the community in Pampa, from my experience even if one life is altered by this record of Amy's life, who knows how far and how much can be accomplished by "the one". We are reminded that some 2 thousand years ago a lone person brought a message of faith and hope, which has spread across the globe. The fact that I am writing this from Australia, watching this movie with several other people carries with it the potential of a life changing experience that may touch many other lives. I could write at length about transforming life experiences, brought about by "the one",however on this forum,we have written enough.
maggielovesbryce Okay. I live in Pampa, Texas, where Amy grew up and eventually died. And the movie, as I mentioned, is an extremely sweet movie, but she did not leave this amazing legacy as the movie and synopsis might lead you to think. Most of the kids in Pampa have not even heard about Amy Newhouse, and if they have, there's a 96% chance it was because of this movie. And all of this happened like ten years ago. They like you to think that kids in Pampa realized the meaning of life and quit doing drugs and drinking...but those things are more rampant than ever here in Pampa. Look, I'm not saying she didn't make a difference, but it wasn't a lasting one. This is a cute little movie, but it's falsely advertised and inaccurate.
jpm4444 Amy was a devout Christian teenage girl that seemed to excel in anything she did. She touched others with a positive personality that could melt any heart. She had begun going on mission trips and was overjoyed at how people reacted to the kindness that was shown to them. She longed to show others the love of God and cared about everyone she met. Once stricken with cancer, she fought it with a hopeful and positive attitude that touched thousands. The entire state of Texas and beyond began praying for her. Even when all hope was lost, she continued to touch others in a way that was a sign of what God really is; love. She befriended one student who was the outcast of the school, and eventually brought him into the fold and opened him up to gain friends and acceptance. Her family and friends were amazed at how many people she had touched and her room was filled with cards and letters of encouragement and appreciation from all over the state. An amazing story and film which well melt even the coldest of hearts.
