ChikPapa Very disappointed :(
Motompa Go in cold, and you're likely to emerge with your blood boiling. This has to be seen to be believed.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Matylda Swan It is a whirlwind of delight --- attractive actors, stunning couture, spectacular sets and outrageous parties.
will-moody "A Murder of Crows" finally made it to the top of my Netflix queue and I settled down to watch it on a Sunday afternoon. Immediately, however, I couldn't help but wonder if this movie had been made for television. From the opening titles to a few odd transitions that make you think you're about to see a TV commercial, the movie seems very cheaply made.A good score and better cinematography would have made all the difference in the world. Cuba Gooding Jr. is great but Tom Berenger has never been a favorite of mine. With a little more effort, this movie could have had the dark appeal of "The Game" or "A Perfect Murder."
philip-ct This was an entertaining, slight film, to watch on TV on a Friday night. The film is interesting, with good performances from Cuba Gooding Jr as a lawyer-turned-novelist and Mark Pellegrino as the man who has framed / is framing him. Don't expect to have all loose ends tied up - a potentially good and interesting angle, a link between Mark Pellegrino and Eric Scholtz (Thurman Parks III, the guilty scumbag, whom the Cuba Gooding character fails to defend) is hinted at but never explored. This film is a bit like an extended Misomer Murders episode or an early-ish Agatha Christie film- don't expect any realistic crafting of crime. Expect only to be entertained, and you might be surprised!
ray-280 Just as the leading actors (Cuba Gooding and Tom Berenger) masquerade as A-list stars, the plot and its direction masquerade as a "thriller." If you aren't paying attention, you might be duped into thinking this is a good movie, but as the old myth about Chinese food goes, you'll be starving again an hour later.Gooding plays an attorney who is disbarred for snitching out a guilty client as in "And Justice For All," who is then framed for a murder and tormented by the killer and the cops throughout. If only the audience had been as fortunate. Those who enjoy seeing steroetypical racism on screen as a means for enlightening the audience will be proud.
nitestar95 If you like shouting at the screen because the characters do so many stupid things, this movie is for you. Or....you might enjoy it while extremely intoxicated, so you won't notice that all the characters are one dimensional. I picked this movie up as an impulse purchase, hoping for a good double feature with Double Jeopardy. Well, this turned out to be a B movie, the second of a typical double feature, where the second movie is the one where you ignore the screen and make out with your lover. There are far too many problems with the story that could have been fixed by pretty much anyone who watches mysteries. I agree with previous critics that found holes in the script, and so don't have to elaborate here. Just wanted to vote 'awful' to bring the average rating down so no one will buy this like I did. Even at $4 from the discount bin, this movie wasn't worth it. I haven't hunted for other works by this writer and director, but I now shall so I don't accidentally pick up any of their other 'masterpieces'.
