Intcatinfo A Masterpiece!
Myron Clemons A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.
Alistair Olson After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Married Baby Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?
mrsmarandaferrell One of my all time favorite movies! Hilarious and fun to watch! I really like Jim Carey's style of comedy. He is funny and really gets in to his roles. The movie is casted really well and all of the actors seem to work together really well. Their timing is good and seems natural. The movie is a staple at our house. We quote it all of the time.
TonyMontana96 (Originally reviewed: 22/02/2017) Jim Carrey's 2nd worst film after the sadistic, repugnant Kick-ass 2; I usually enjoy his work; but this film is plain and simple not funny. I never laughed, nor did I smile, the whole picture was utterly painful to sit through. The only thing it had going for it was its production design which looked decent; it's a pity everything that talked and contributed to the screenplay for the film was either embarrassingly awful or just plain awful. There's no structure to the story; if you could call it a story, and there's no chemistry between anyone and the acting sucks; even Carrey who is desperately over the top; most likely trying to make up for the picture's bad writing; but even he wasn't funny here. Many of the gags looked like they were designed for teenage boys; the writer's think spitting gags, snot covered faces and a man eating bat droppings is funny; well here's some truth; there just not; there unfunny, gross and immature; at one point I wrote down I hate this film on a piece of paper and I've never done that before; that's how aggravating it was to endure. Other noticeably crap jokes include "Say hello to my stinky friend" where he sprays someone with a skunk, which is pathetic, and a terrible gag where he comes out of a rhino's ass; which is an insult to the intelligence of people who have a good taste in comedy. One other gag involved a fight with an alligator; now I actually felt sorry for the alligator; because even he looked depressed with Carrey's embarrassing performance. The film is complete trash; a film that requires constant unnecessary slapstick, unpleasant gags, and atrociously bad dialogue to exist; Jack Bernstein (writer) and director Steven Oedekerk who also helped write the film should be ashamed of what they have done, because this is a contender for worst comedy sequel of all time. Overall Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls is juvenile, immature, pathetic, and pure comedic sewage. 0.5/5
jacobjohntaylor1 You so have to be 12 or younger to enjoy the h.u.m.o.u.r in this movie. When I was 11 I thought this was the funniest movie ever made. Now I'm 30 and I realist that it is not funny it is just stupid. I can't believe adults think this is funny. Even when I was kid and I liked this movie I thought that Batman forever was Jim Carry's best. And now as an adult I still think that it is his best. Now so hyping this movie ever body it is not that good. It is very stupid. The best thing about was the sound track. I can believe that this is looked at as one of his beast movies. This is boring. Watching a grown man act like a silly little boy. Who that is what you want to send your time watching that's your business. But I have better things to do with my time.
SnoopyStyle The movie starts with Ace Ventura failing to rescue a raccoon in a parody of 'Cliffhanger'. He abandons everything to live in a remote Himalyan hideaway. After the Himalayas, he joins Fulton Greenwall (Ian McNeice) in a quest to find a sacred bat and avert a war between with Wachootoo and Wachati tribes.Jim Carrey is pushing the envelop with even more crazier antics than the original. There are some hilarious stuff here. Sometimes it's even smart like the parody of 'Cliffhanger'. Mostly it's all very juvenile. It has its moment but like its predecessor, this does get tiresome. A big problem is that he does a lot of it out of anger. It makes some of the jokes to fall flat. It's a very uneven movie that tired me out.
