This documentary feature pulls back the curtain on the world of ‘working class’ rappers. The film spotlights independent artists struggling to find a balance between making a living and pursuing their art alongside the never-ending saga of age and relevance. Weaved together through a series of 30 plus interviews that are devoid of the ego so common in the business of music, especially hip-hop, the film traverses the country (USA) to explore the myths and misconceptions of life as a full-time rapper.

Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
FirstWitch A movie that not only functions as a solid scarefest but a razor-sharp satire.
rick sabates 90%+ of this "documentary" was a sit down interview with too many interviewees (almost 20) that all had similar views. None of the subjects were introduced. We have no idea who some of them are, their background, location, level of success etc. Their names weren't even displayed until the end and by that time It was too late to actually think about the context and why they answered the way they did. The 20 plus rappers literally introduced themselves at the ending creds! Maybe the director thought it would be different or interesting to make the viewer guess. But it was a poor choice and really did a disservice to the artists that participated. There was a serious problem with keeping the flow, making it difficult to keep interest in the subject. Visually bland. Like I said, most of this consisted of several sit down interviews with a few b-roll clips thrown in. This could've been great if the director:1) Picked fewer subjects to focus on. There were way too many individuals interviewed that seemingly did not have any different views from one another. There was very little variation between the subjects making me think that those 20 or so could've been trimmed down to 4 or 5. Also, maybe have them actually intro themselves or display their names BEFORE you start asking them questions!! I literally have no idea who some of them are. Also show them performing some music (with their music actually playing). All of these things help the viewer have a vested interest in these characters. 2) The title is ADULT rappers. Talk about the generational difference of these people who grew up during the birth of hip hop and how the internet has changed their craft. There are snippets of this but it is really scattered all over the place and shallow in analysis. 3) This definitely could've used some narration. Like I said before, this thing is all over the place. Do some research on the subject and provide some context.
bvincesf Inside view of what is it like to have your art be the focus of your world. The game is the game and the commitment demonstrated by these MC's is second to none. They are the American Dream. Small Business Owners to the hilt. This honest look should bring folks back to the Golden Age of Hip Hop. Rap is the musical outlet of Hip Hop. Hip Hop is a Culture and Lifestyle. It isn't about Radio Rappers or MTV Rappers. These Microphone Warriors are the truest representation of how difficult it is is to make it in the music industry. It is eye opening and the struggle is real. If you make the choice to enter the game be prepared to grind and grind. It isn't about ego. It's about humbling yourself to get to the next level.
