In front of his 15-year-old son, a father loses his temper and strikes his younger daughter, thinking she's trying to run away from him. Jump ahead ten years: the dad is dead, the mom is gone, and the son, Luke, is raising his now grown sister, Annie. He's overprotective, and she seems blood simple, a coquette and an innocent. He runs the diner in town, and one day, Lisa, a callow writer-to-be, comes through from Manhattan, keeping a journal, looking for interesting people. She takes a shine to Annie and then to the muscular and well-read Luke. But what is their secret, how many of the townsfolk are in on it, and what will Lisa do when it all becomes clear?

Mjeteconer Just perfect...
Marketic It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.
TrueHello Fun premise, good actors, bad writing. This film seemed to have potential at the beginning but it quickly devolves into a trite action film. Ultimately it's very boring.
Aubrey Hackett While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
David_Niemann Lisa arrives in a very small town on a journey to get inspiration for her hopefully forthcoming career as a writer. She quickly makes friends with Annie and her brother Luke. Annie is very innocent and her brother is very protective of her. Via a series of flashbacks we learn more about Annie and Luke, and their parents. There seems to be some mystery to the town and some of the townspeople may not be who they say they are. With the movie shot in a country town there are a lot of really nice and beautiful scenes of the countryside.I didn't expect a lot from this movie, so I wasn't disappointed. Its not great, but I did like it. The acting at some points is a little on the bad side. And some of the dialogue is just plain awful! In one scene Luke lets fly some mumbo-jumbo which I think was meant to make his character appear smarter but just let him look even more stupid. It was also out of character somewhat. Maybe the fact that the actor that plays Luke also wrote the movie had some bearing on this. Not to mention the vomit inducing 'Can I have a forgiveness sandwich?' from Lisa.Even through the cliche filled dialogue and some acting worthy of a TV movie I found myself enjoying the movie. It had an interesting story, and I was compelled by the friendship of Lisa and Annie. Not to mention the flashbacks, along with the eye candy on offer. And the ending was something I didn't expect!I wouldn't go around telling people they have to see it, but you could do a lot worse. And now that I know the ending I'm keen to see it again.7/10
MIKE-966 I've seen many films with an almost same story. Many people doesn't like the movie it seems. But I like it, it's a story that could be real. The movie is sometimes a little too slow, but this is fully compensated by the perfect Yancy Butler, and also Charlotte Chatton. I think both have a great future, when they select the right movies. I would say see the film and make your own opinion.
