Watch something else. There are very few redeeming qualities to this film.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

one of the worst movies. I simply couldn't watch it, everyone is acting so stupid and naive, I wonder if this suppose to be for audience under 5 years old? And I mean you gotta be under 5 in order to not understand anything what's going on in this movie in order to actually finish it. one of the worst movies. I watched this movie recently with my family and it really wasn't that great, though it wasn't totally awful. Not one I would recommend if you think. with Many convenient plot twists and completely unbelievable scenes the story was likely written by a 9 year old. The cast couldn't have been much worse, either, with a 50 year old pop diva. Jane Lynch plays some great characters, but this wasn't one of them. This take offers nothing new on the all too familiar tale of Cinderella and, in fact, is a very poorly done rendition of that classic tale. On top of that there are some scenes which are simply not believable and pointless, such as the masquerade ball where nobody could tell who anybody was, even though they wore masks over only the tops of their faces. The only two blacks in the entire movie didn't even recognize each other, moronically. Yet for some reason when Selena Gomez entered in a rather poofed out, concealing dress all eyes were on here as if everyone thought she looked beautiful even though her body was completely covered, her outfit was not form fitting and they supposedly could not see enough of her face for even her step sisters to recognize her. This movie is entirely forgettable. Absolutely nothing about it stood out even slightly. It is probably the worst take on Cinderella I have ever seen.

I honestly liked the movie. Sure, it's not the best movie out there, but it has a certain charm. The more I watch it, the more I like it. Yes, the plot is predictable, but it is a Cinderella story, so of course the lead boy and the lead girl fall in love and of course the story has a happy ending. Even so, this version had some interesting twists. For example, the "prince" finds his "princess" earlier than most Cinderella spin-offs out there, leaving room to add a bit of what happens after the Disney-happily-ever-after. Also, Mary (princess) isn't a helpless girl waiting around for her mice friends or her fairy godmother to make her dreams come true (and her dream is not just to marry the prince). Mary is a wonderfully talented dancer (fantastically portrayed by the amazing Selena Gomez) who dreams of getting into the Manhattan Dance Academy, but her evil stepmother (hysterically well done by the always wonderful Jane Lynch) won't have that. So, Mary sneaks into the local dance school and takes her "lessons" on the other side of a one way mirror. This movie has wonderful acting, hilarious scenes, great music, and great dancing. If you're looking for something with depth, you're in the wrong genre. However, if you're looking for something that you can watch to relax and give you a good laugh, this is your movie.

I managed to catch this movie and expected it to be a typical chick flick and high school drama- well I was right.Story:Mary is a high schooler who dreams of becoming a dancer, however she has to make it into the Manhatten dance school to fulfil her dreams. In the meantime she has to work for her stepmom( actually guardian in fact). Joey is a pop-star who came back to finish his studies in high school and to find his roots as well as choose a new dancer for his new music video. Mary is Cinderella and Joey is the prince.Storywise, its very predictable, you do know what will happen next and of course both will end up happily ever after. I did like how the movie was flowing initially but towards the end, it started to get boring and I was wondering when it will end. I also noticed that dancing seemed to be the main theme of this movie. For that I gave it credit because I do like watching them dance.Actors and acting:I don't know about whether anyone noticed the age gap between Selena Gomez and Drew Seeley but I did and no I didn't even look at their ages in the first place. The minute I saw Selena, it struck me on how young she look, like a young teenager wheras Drew came across looking like a college student( I do know he's older then that later). Though they had OK chemistry, I find them really incompatible in terms of looks. Bad choice of actors in this case.I like Jane lynch who played the stepmother. Proud and arrogant and often bullying Mary, her vulnerable times were comical especially when she told Mary she was unpopular as well. The other actors, like Mary's rival in love, stepsisters and friends were just OK in acting. I see nothing special.
