In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

This movie is the best hybrid of Alien and the Blair Witch Project anyone could possibly imagine. Wow. It really says something that every critic panned it. I do not have bad taste, allow me to explain. This movie has a perfect runtime for a horror film: 1 hour and 15 minutes. That is really all it needs to give us a movie that has a great beginning, middle and end. Not a second is wasted.I can't believe some people say this movie is boring, because this movie would've been special even without the monsters. Just the whole concept of going to the moon on a secret mission is riveting. The setting sets it way apart from all the lost footage films that take place in the woods, or somebody's home. I'd say pacing wise it is way better than paranormal activity. While that movie dragged on, this movie gets right to the point. You don't have to wait till the end for scares. It also had a pretty great ending. For a low budget horror film, it delivers the goods and on a grander scale than most other offerings. This movie deserves so much more praise than it gets. You will not get disappointed from watching it.

The movie is not perfect. I liked much more the sci-fi side than the horror side. I found it more believable than most of the sci-fi movies (space odyssey and interstellar included). It was very intriguing the idea of using old cameras, the editing with true footage worked great... even if the space in real capsules was much less than what is shown in the movie: a forgivable poetic license :)The horror part was ... horrible :) To some extent it was even unnecessary. IMHO it should have worked better a "fight" between Russians and Americans about some possible mine of extremely rare metals like cerium and neodymium. The value of hundred billions dollars could have justified the race.Rocky monsters are quite difficult to buy. For any viewer, I mean...7/10

This movie began with a good concept/story, it's just the reason why they never went back that ruined it!!!! I mean really?! It was just stupid!!!! I was hoping it would've been something more scary or interesting! Huge opportunity missed to make this movie a massive hit! Don't get me wrong, this movie was kinda good, it's just that type of movie you'd only watch once, and never again. All I'm saying is that the cause of everything messing up wasn't really interesting or scary enough, when I saw that Russian spacecraft I was expecting something which involved other humans messing things up or at least scarier aliens!!

The movie had potential but the camera work throughout the movie was distracting. I understand that the camera work was on purpose but it was just too much distortion to make it easy to follow. Not the same as the "lost footage" from The Blair Witch Project. The concept was sound, though. With more mainstream camera work it would have been more entertaining. Still, I liked it. The actors certainly held the movie together. Spoiler alert: They did a good job acting the slow deterioration into madness. Aliens, paranoia, and secrets. A cool mix! The idea of the plot taking place on the moon was adhered to throughout the movie. I almost felt claustrophobic watching it!
