Nonureva Really Surprised!

ChanFamous I wanted to like it more than I actually did... But much of the humor totally escaped me and I walked out only mildly impressed.

iasuka Inspired, perhaps, by scientific and adventuring voyage of Tim Severin in 1984, this film has it's unique fusion of ancient and modern cultural elements. The movie starts like usual soviet documentary about Argo 1984 voyage, and then smoothly dissolves into what I would call a rock-pop-opera. Light-hearted music, carefree play of actors, not fixated on profits and benefits - all this well reflects Russian title "Vesyolaya hronika opasnogo puteshestviya", which means "Joyful chronicle of the dangerous (serious) voyage". Joyous blend of poetry and music, sometimes romantic, sometimes philosophic, sometimes cheerful and windy, this movie is ever-ready remedy for everyday humdrum.One of my friends, being in nostalgic mood, said that with collapse of the Soviet Union an ability to make such movies was lost.
