Reviews

Diagonaldi Very well executed
SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Ginger Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
nammage This film, to me, seemed more observational rather than an actual story of a woman attempting to find love with another woman. It seemed that way by the setup from the beginning: art teacher casts young girls who then she attempts to have a relationship with one (or more) of them. It's like 'the sleazy professor and his student' cliché. Perhaps she feels this is the only way she can meet women but that doesn't necessarily seem true. There's some weird parts in this film with a police officer and the main character using mannequins as a way to see her own future suicide. Of course, in itself, that causes some mayhem for other people (or not so much for one in particular). I didn't really get into the film; I've seen quite a few other South Korean films but this played out more like a TV show; it seemed cut like one, too.The titles make no sense to me; not the original or the Amercanized title. It seemed more like diffidence than anything, and "life is peachy"? Only if they stretched the metaphorical range of that phrase that perhaps it could fit. Perhaps the filmmakers were attempting to paint an ordinary semblance of relationships; no matter the leaning. But that would be observational on my part.Overall, it's nice. Not great and not bad: average. It's average and that's okay, too.
kosmasp Another drama, another movie seen at the Berlin International Festival this year. Very slow moving and with mainly a female perspective. While very nice told and acted, it did not grip as much as some other dramas, that I watched. There is only so much drama that you can watch after all, but I felt that something special was missing. Again this does not make this a bad movie in any way though.Korean cinema seemed to struggle the last few years, after a high it had before. But those are just reflections of mine, that might not be true at all. It just felt that way. And while this is a drama and not a period piece and does not have the impact of a Kim Ki Duk movie, it still is worthwhile ...
