Baseshment I like movies that are aware of what they are selling... without [any] greater aspirations than to make people laugh and that's it.
Catangro After playing with our expectations, this turns out to be a very different sort of film.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
adonis98-743-186503 Two assassins agree to work together as one tries to avenge his wife and the other collect a reward for a job. Assassination Games (2011) is far away from the masterpiece that you would expect it to be but both Jean Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins are amazing threw out the whole film, the villains were kinda forgettable especially that Polo guy but they served their purpose well into you know get murdered? The soundtrack was also pretty good and of course there was no doubt that the film has some terrific action sequences and fights but certain things like the villains and the pacing could have been better in my opinion. (6.5/10)
KineticSeoul Despite this movie being a cheap straight to DVD action movie, I really wanted to like it. Mainly because it has Jean-Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins in it. Plus I was really in the mood for an action movie. The plot is so generic and has been done better, about two guys who are good at what they do teaming up plot-line. Yes, it's been done but much better. And the fight sequence between Jean-Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins is just super weak. That has to do with Van Damme getting old, but man it was weak. The dialogue is super cheesy and the dialogue is equally bad. I wanted to see some cool fight sequences but it even lacked in that department. Even the action was so freaking cheesy and has been done before, if you have seen a few action movies. Chances are you will see the same or similar parts in this one. The execution was even poor. Plus this isn't one of those movies you can roast with a group of friend either. Just pass on this one even if it has Jean-Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins in it, which was the main reason I saw it in the first place. There is so many noticeable plot-holes in this that it's just ridiculous. The bad guys are super idiots and the assassins makes choices that just doesn't make any sense.3/10
Maziun This is a rather boring action movie . Or action drama. It tries hard to make main heroes deep. One is a guy who lost all contact with humanity. Second wants revenge for his wife's fate. Unfortunately , the whole drama is never affecting the viewer in any way. Not to mention that for a Van Damme movie it makes a big mistake – Van Damme ends as a supporting character in his own movie. Audience cares much more for Scott Adkins . He's got more screen time , he acts better and his motivation is better. He also gets the best action scenes here. Van Damme gives a lifeless performance and ends as a rather unsympathetic character . Especially thanks to a certain twist in the movie . I've lost all my sympathy for him after that. The whole movie is yellow and looks rather ugly instead of stylish. The story is predictable with the exception of one twist that kills any sympathy from viewer left for Van Damme's character. It also tries hard to be a movie about pain , revenge and redemption , but never succeeds.I give it 1/10. Better watch "Assasins" with Sylvester Stallone and Antonio Banderas.
kdorsey321 "Assassination Games" is the movie I'm reviewing in this movie review. This movie stars Jean- Claude Van Damme and Scott Adkins. This movie came out in 2011. I believe it was some time in the last quarter of 2011. I happen to watch this movie on Netflix. I don't think this movie came out in the movie theater. When I saw the previews for it and saw that Van Damme was in the movie I was eager to see it. Judging from the previews it looked like the makings of a descent film. This movie is about two of the world's greatest assassins that don't know each other, but work together to achieve both of their personal goals. This was very good film to me. This film had a good plot. This film had a good story and the execution was on point with the film. The action was good and it was enough to fit this type of film. I felt like that was important. Lots of movies that are consider action movies have a problem with not putting enough or the right amount of action in the film. This film doesn't have that problem. The fight scenes were very good and believable. There's this one scene in the movie were the assassins are trying to kill the same guy and they bump heads. (didn't know each other at time) I thought that was pretty cool. Their mistakes on both of their behalf's were do to the fact that they were both excellent at what they did. You have to keep in mind (while watching the film) that this is an "assassination movie," not transformers. All in all, this was a descent film.A can't really say anything bad about this film. Don't expect Oscars acting performances either. As a fan of Van Damme, it was nice to see him in a movie again. My final rating for this film is going to be an 8 out of 10. Solid film, very good execution and is well deserving of it high score. If you have a couple of hours to burn and you like these kinds of movies, you have blessing to see this one. You won't be disappointed. Currently, this film is on Netflix, so watch it on there of course, but if I see this film in the movie store for fewer than ten dollars. I'm going to purchase it.
