Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Cody One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
Horst in Translation ([email protected]) This is the 16-minute music video by the late Michael Jackson for his song "Bad" from almost 30 years ago. Regardless of what I think of Michael Jackson as an artist, his overlong music videos are just a prime example of weak writing and mediocre (at best!) acting. It does not really help that the director here is Martin Scorsese, one of the best out there. Well.. maybe he wasn't yet in the late 80s. Then again he had already "Raging Bull" under his belt at that point and was not far away from making "Goodfellas". The writer here is Richard Price. He also worked with Scorsese shortly before on "The Color of Money" and got his first (and only) Academy award nomination for the film's screenplay. In terms of the cast here, the only other sort-of known actor is Wesley Snipes, but it's really all about Michael, who sings a lot, dances a lot and is just the big star of the show as in all his other music videos. In my opinion, these are basically all style over substance and even if I believe he was a very talented musician, there is nothing really memorable about him as an actor. Not recommended.
Max_J_Totty Michael had changed a lot from the time of thriller to this video...his skin was lighter and his features seemed to have changed...but who cares, Bad is still awesome and directed by Martin Scorsese! the song is really catchy and Michael's dancing is very tough and sharp, Wesley snipes makes an appearance also...10/10 Michael delivered the goods with this
DocAndMarty This music video is honestly one of the best of Michael Jackson. He portrays a high school kid coming home from a high class, preppy school only to hang out with his ghetto friends. As the group gets back into their old ways, Michael refuses to continue with them. His opinions have changed since they last hung out and doesn't want to be the delinquent that he apparently was before hand. After his friends give him one more chance to show that he still is BAD, Michael ditches the chance and tells his friends that they're nothing and not bad either. He goes into a lengthy dance number to show to them that he is BAD too, but just not in the way that they want him to be.The direction and quality of film is excellent. With it's WIZARD OF OZ type feel, by having the film start off in Black and White and then at the point of the song's entrance, turning to color, only to go back to Black and White after the song's finished.Once again, this is one of MJ's better MUSIC VIDEOS and is a must see for fans of both MJ and Scoresce.
MichaelJackson25 BAD is an incredible music video by the King of pop ! And wow he looks gorgeous in it too !!! Michael Jackson in my opinion is also the King of music video's too !! I mean...he invented them in the first place !
