not horrible nor great
Taraparain
Tells a fascinating and unsettling true story, and does so well, without pretending to have all the answers.
Isbel
A terrific literary drama and character piece that shows how the process of creating art can be seen differently by those doing it and those looking at it from the outside.
Scarlet
The film never slows down or bores, plunging from one harrowing sequence to the next.

I didn't expect such a marvellous movie from Dharma Productions. Most of the movies that were produced by Dharma (barring Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham & Agneepath) were utter trash. Both Varun & Alia are now my favourite. This was not the case 3 years back!!!!! Their debut movie SOTY & the previous Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania were all about glamour & some 3rd rate jokes which I feel.....!!!!! Varun Dhawan's acting in BKD was so awesome and the best of his career till date.Varun Dhawan has all the potential to deliver all time blockbuster (as long as he guarantee he will do more family-oriented movies, and with a perfect script). I guarantee this!!!!! I went and watched BKD and came out with a feeling of "unexpressable happiness". While Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania was a complete waste of time, THIS ONE IS AN EPIC !!!!! I don't understand why 6.2 so low rating on IMDb. Should at least have a 7.2 seriously. I give 10 out of 10 for BKD. Because the joy and satisfaction Badri, Somdev and all my friends gave me during those 2-and-a-half hours cannot be replaced with anything. Watching that movie really MADE MY DAY. Hoping the next dulhania series will be more better. BKD is more in emotions and content and the emotional scenes in the entire movie are natural. There was a good overflow of heart-warming dialogues, beautiful scenaries (like the park scene near Taj Mahal, the Humsafar song) and very good music. Music has taken a new level. Varun & Alia's acting is COMPLETELY NATURAL. I rate 10 out of 10 stars, hardly finding any negatives for the movie (except a predictable climax). I liked the concept of valuing self-respect over love. Brilliant direction by Shashank Khaitan. Badri, Somdev & Vaidehi.....you guys rock !!

The entire movie is a fun comedy to watch with your family. Yes! It is indeed a family romantic film. The movie gives a unique and important message through the script, which you need to identify on your own. It will teach you how to love, how to be a friend of anyone, how to be with your family and most importantly, how to respect women. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and further, I highly recommend you all to go and watch this movie. Currently, I am in love with both Badri and Vaidehi and I bet you will also fall in love with some of the characters. Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a beautiful movie with a beautiful message. Do not miss it guys!

After the success of 'Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya(2014)', writer- director Shashank Khaitan in collaboration with Dharma Productions brings another Dulhaniya franchise with the same lead actors. Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya: a typical Rom-com delivering a hard- hitting message in the backdrop.Badrinath Bansal urf Badri(Varun Dhawan) is a younger son of a famous Sahukaar(Ritu Raj Singh) in Jhansi. He likes to hang out with his best friend Somdev(Sahil Vaid) and assists his father in business. The Bansal family is a classic example of patriarchy where the elder son Alok(Yash Sinha) had to marry against his choice due to his father's wish. Badri is metric qualified bloke who stumbles upon Vaidehi(Alia Bhatt) at a marriage function in Kota and is instantly bowled over(as happens in Bollywood). Vaidehi is a daughter of a middle class servicemen struggling to find a suitable groom for her and her elder sister Kritika(Sukmani Lamba). But Vaidehi wants to study and follow her own dreams.Vaidehi is an independent girl, against the regular norms of the society who wants to prove that even girls can achieve everything they dream for and are not a burden on their fathers. She wants to live her life on her own terms. It is Vaidehi who is the real 'hero' of the movie.Badri head over heels for her just wants to marry her & so helps her in finding a perfect groom for her sister Kritika. Assisting him everywhere is Somdev who wants to expand his marriage business 'Chutkimeinshaadi'.The first half of the movie is fully entertaining tickling your bones all the way due to a sparkling chemistry between Badri and Vaidehi & Badri and Somdev but ends on a sour note from where the movie loses track. The second half is plain, bore and going nowhere having occasional funny moments and the movie's appealing nature vanishes. The only savior is the evolution of Vaidehi's character through the point-of-view of Badri. What follows is an expected climax seen so many times before. It is a shame that a movie with such a strong purpose is diluted with a romantic tale which seems a forced one.For Varun Dhawan this might turn out to be a coming-of-age performance who finally makes a mark with Badri. You would say that the turning point for him was Badlapur, but his performance was not able to justify the character as the script demanded and was overshadowed by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. But here he is spot on although the accent required furnishing. Alia Bhatt has presented Vaidehi so gracefully that the character itself garnered the respect it deserved. This movie adds another feather to her career after exemplary performances is 'Udta Punjab' and 'Dear Zindagi'. The show-stealer here is Sahil Vaid as Somdev who looks the most natural as a UP grown-up. His comic timing is admirable and is able to seal the deal with this narrow opportunity.Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya is an experience where you feel robbed by the mediocrity of a movie which could have been an elegant, charming and a splendid finish.

The film starts with the Introduction of Varun's Family and his friend Somdev(Sahil) ,Alia's entry going to make you fall is love instantly. Before give my review ,I want to say that few community of people in India going to hate this and those who are criticizing the film are belong to that community only .With the great dialogues and perfect acting of each and every actors the Film is truly a Gem for eyes. Along with the comic scenes & light dialogues the Film also shows the harsh reality of India & if you don't belong to that particular community we will really going to feel bad for the girls , "Girls= Libality & Boy= Assets" that statement will remain with you for long and really make you feel ashamed of that culture of India. The film make you feel why those communities give birth to Girl child, girl is nothing for them just a reason for #hearthattack. A girl can't work the only belongs to Kitchen and a machine to Birth to male child. I must say Karan_jahor gave a slap to those community ,hats off to the director cum writer Shashank Khaitan ,he deserves a standing ovation. Conclusion- Watch it for full entertainment and For Indian harsh reality .. . . ..
