Konterr Brilliant and touching
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Ella-May O'Brien Each character in this movie — down to the smallest one — is an individual rather than a type, prone to spontaneous changes of mood and sometimes amusing outbursts of pettiness or ill humor.
ingemar-4 You don't have to be a fan of the minions to appreciate this. Rather, I am not a fan of them since I consider them a Raving Rabbids ripoff, but this one is funny. It manages to make quite a bit of fun of the simple idea of desiring a banana. It may be a bit one-eyed (pun intended) but that is why it works. Thumbs up!I found this on a DVD with half a dozen shorts. The others also had their points, but I found this to be the purest in its form. I have heard that comedians find it easier to find humor by restricting themselves to a tight concept, a kind of "creativity by limitations", and I think this is one such case. It is about almost nothing. A banana. Oh, by the way, we all know that bananas are the funniest vegetable out there (rhubarb is the second, and I guess strawberries are next) and this is not the only movie where it is more or less the whole title.
Horst in Translation ([email protected]) "Banana" is a 3-minute short film starring the Minions from "Despicable Me". It came out after the first of the so far two movies and now that the Minions got their own film, it may be time to take a closer look at their short film past. The story here is very simple. One Minion has a banana, but another one sees it and wants it too. Pay attention to how some Minions have one eye and others have two. Quickly, a third Minion joins the battle, probably their foreman. The action takes place at a factory and it won't take too long until the entire staff is basically chasing after the banana. No good can come from that sadly and in the end, the banana is lost. Luckily for everybody, there's another delicacy around pretty quickly. I did not find this short film too funny to be honest. Not really recommended, only for hardcore fans of the Minions.
Michael_Elliott Banana (2010) ** 1/2 (out of 4)One minion goes to peel a banana, which causes two more to want it so the chase begins. Obviously if you're a fan of DESPICABLE ME and the minions then you're going to want to watch this 4-minute short, which is rich on cuteness. The story itself is pretty ordinary but the animators give us a few funny moments and there's no doubt that the animation is about as good as you're going to get. There are some really good shots here and especially the one where a banana gets shot up into the air and we get a great view of dozens of minions slowly watching it.
Gordon-11 This short film is about the simple minded minions who chase themselves around for a banana, causing much havoc and even massive destruction in a weapons lab."Banana" is only three minutes long if you exclude the credits, but it manages to squeeze a lot in because of the quick paced plot. The minions are cute and fun to watch. Despite them uttering 'banana' and 'no' only, their simple minded actions and even their intentions are clearly portrayed. It is very funny to see them acting impulsively, with no consideration of the consequences of their action. The short is entertaining and fun to watch. I enjoyed it.
