Self-important, over-dramatic, uninspired.

Best movie ever!

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

Barsaat was hyped to be the super-hit launch vehicle for Bobby and Twinkle, both children of Bollywood superstars, Dharmendra and Rajesha Khanna/Dimple Kapadia, respectively. The movie, however, failed to excite movie-goers in the opening weekend and only picked up some traction in later weeks. And, understandably, so.Barsaat adds nothing new to the Bollywood scene. The story is clichéd and completely unoriginal. There must be at least a dozen movies involving a village boy/girl falling in love with a city girl/boy only to be prevented (at least temporarily) from living happily ever after by the boy/girl's ultra-rich father. It is not too surprising that Bobby and Twinkle selected Barsaat to launch their ultimately unsuccessful movie careers. The movie is redeemed to some extent by decent songs and acting, especially by Babbar and Denzongpa.Overall, the movie is watchable and even entertaining, but don't raise your expectations too high.
