SoftInloveRox Horrible, fascist and poorly acted
Bluebell Alcock Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

Basmati Blues is one of those films where one actor will feel embarrased that even starred in it and that actor will be Brie Larson. This film is not original, not comedic and definitely not a good musical since the singing part doesn't even sound like Larson herself and that was disappointing since actors like Jackman do their own singing. Overall a disappointing film that makes sense for the 3.9 that it got and the 0% that it received on Rotten Tomatoes. (0/10)
Bruce This is a fun romantic comedy/musical. The negative reviews insist the film is average (false), boring (false), poorly directed (false), the worst movie ever (not even close), not a rom-com (false), only mimics Bollywood (fair enough), and inaccurately portrays India (what do you expect from Hollywood?). You can let these hateful people suck the joy out of your life - or you can enjoy the movie.
dmisaacson History is chock-full of examples of well-meaning American technocrats going to other countries to "help"... and in the process helping to destroy that country's culture and economy. Here is a film that tackles that phenomenon head-on, but does so within the frothy and mirthful form of a rom-com musical. The results, bubbling with references to Kurt Vonnegut, Arundhati Roy, and Bollywood -- defy cookie-cutter expectations of the genre. The entire Indian and American cast is all-in. In a just world this film would launch Utkarsh Ambudkar as a top Hollywood comic leading man. And in a just world, American technocrats would learn the lesson that it is perhaps better to simply embrace a foreign culture than to try to "save" it.
jostannie Same old same old I'm afraid. Go out and have a curry instead of watching this rubbish.
