It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.

It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...

"Lane Daniels" (Hillary Duff) is an aspiring young writer living in New York City who finds it hard to meet single, young men. As luck would have it her roommate "Joanne" (Amanda Walsh) just happens to know somebody at Cosmo Magazine who wants an article written about dating within the business world and so Lane decides to accept the job assignment and goes undercover working for a financial firm on Wall Street. One condition however is that she can only date men wearing suits who work in the business world. Little does she know that she is about to meet the man of her dreams and he doesn't meet this qualification. This creates a real dilemma for her. Now rather than reveal any more of this film and risk ruining it for those who haven't seen it I will just say that for a "made-for-television" romantic-comedy this particular movie wasn't too bad. Admittedly, while I would have preferred more comedy and less romance, the performance of Hillary Duff was sufficient to keep the movie somewhat enjoyable and because of that I rate it as about average.

I read many negative reviews on the movie it's self and the actress Hilary Duff. But in all honest, these are the kind of movies i like and everyone is entitled to their own opinions but thats just their opinion- they just don't like this movie. I like this movie and i love how Hilary Duff acts, in fact, i want her in more movies like these. This movie was a breathe of fresh air, it's funny and romantic = romantic comedy = perfection. I saw the comments on this movie and one of them said something like "you've got to be kidding" etc. I kept that in mind while watching the movie and i have to say that the person writing that comment doesn't know what he/she is talking about. Before you judge this movie, you've got to at least "test" and watch it before bashing on it. you can't make the audiences believe that its a bad movie, because some audience such as i, like this movie. The movie was nice, sweet, nothing extravagant just a little romantic comedy.. it's simple, if you are the kind of people that want action, i guess this isn't the movie for you. Plot was somewhat good, the acting was fair, and there were many good looking people (Which you always want in a romantic comedy), as well as most important of all it had a good and happy ending. -It's heart warming. Way better than i expect by the looks of the comments and rating. I absolutely have no idea why people wrote all these bad things about the movie. Why be so critic and not enjoy the movie as a whole and it's own self. Just sit back, enjoy the movie and stop being such a harsh critic, that it doesn't let you enjoy movies. But the only thing i don't understand is that, doesn't Tom have a girlfriend...?? Anyone want to answer to my question aha.Definitely will watch this again on my spare time, and in my opinion; it was a great movie.

Lane (Hilary Duff) is a freelance writer, interested in fashion and writing feature articles for magazines catering to younger adult women. If she could pitch a story to Cosmo, and get accepted, that would be heaven. Happily, her roommate is a rising fashion photographer and SHE gets Lane an interview with a top Cosmo exec (Jaime Pressley). At first, the talk goes badly and Lane almost gets dismissed. But, thinking quickly, the two ladies begin to hatch an idea that springs from just "girl talk". What if Lane, who is looking for a man to match her "check list", goes undercover at an investment firm? Men are plentiful there and Lane can see if any of these gentlemen fulfill her list and, then, capture his heart. So, it begins. Lane fibs her way into a great job, through a creative resume and interview. She will be working for investor Tom (Michael McMillan) as a personal assistant with business savvy. Although a few hitches occur on her first day, Lane makes it through, once with the help of another gorgeous businessman, Seth. But, celebrating at a bar later, she meets a handsome English musician, Liam (Chris Carmack) who hits all of the qualities of her list, except one minor item. Oh, no! To complete her article, she has to concentrate on romancing a white-collar gent! But, Liam is so hot, he's sure to be a distraction! What's a poor girl to do, with eligible men at every turn? This is a darling romcom, sure to please every eager fans, like me. It's fun, its romantic and its charming. Duff makes a great leading lady and she looks terrific while McMillan, Carmack, Pressley, and all of the others support her well. The costumes are, as one can imagine, dreamy while the setting in Manhattan is always appealing. Add on a lively, comic script and a smooth direction and what do you get? In brief, sheer heaven, fans!

First of all, let me tell you that, after using IMDb for years, I just now registered so I can post this review.Hilary Duff is at it again... "acting" in a horrid movie. It's not only painfully unrealistic, but while watching you feel like you're in Hilary's cheesy fantasy. The acting is terrible, and the story is very superficial. The ending seems like they felt the need to wrap it up quickly, so it's rushed and just awful! And this isn't a romantic comedy. I love romantic comedies. This is a ridiculously embarrassing story that makes women seem conceited and men seem foolish.Don't waste your time watching this. I can't believe I wasted mine!
