I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.

A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

A young group of camp counselors gathers to prepare a summer camp for youngsters. Little do they know that in these woods there is a killer who was wronged long ago. A killer who wants revenge. A killer who wears a hockey mask. A killer who name is Jason Voor... I mean, Trevor Moorehouse. This film needs two words to describe it perfectly: shameless and incompetent. Shameless in that is rips off "Friday the 13th" so obviously and it doesn't even try to cover its tracks, but actually goes on as a serious slasher film. The first killing is virtually a direct lift from "Texas Chainsaw Massacre." Incompotent in that it doesn't even offer in the least what fans of the genre want and enjoy. For a film called "Bloody Murder" even if it is a shameless ripoff, you'd expect gore to accompany the deaths, right? Some kinky sex and nudity, right? Then all the cheesy dialog and generally predictable story would be forgivable, since the film would give what it promises. But that doesn't happen. It doesn't happen in the least. No gore, no nudity, and some of the most lame horror movie murders you can set your eyes on. The obviously unrehearsed acting tops it all off for a truly forgettable (and possibly regrettable) film viewing. Just re-watch "Friday the 13th." --- 1/10Rated R for violence. Ages 13+.

1st watched 8/22/2007, 3 out of 10(Dir-Ralph Portillo): Failed "Friday the 13th" rehash movie trying to put a mystery spin on the old-time thrasher type. This time we have a hockey-masked killer yielding a buzz saw(how original, huh!!) with a different name spreading havoc at a camp filled with counselors who are ready for the picking. We have the typical bad acting, sex-crazed youth showing up for the jobs looking also to, of course, have a good time while there. As they disappear, one-by-one, different theories are thrown around but the haunting legend of a local murderer named Moorehouse hovers over the festivities. About 3/4 of the way thru the movie, the makers attempt to keep us guessing and are slightly successful(which does put a different spin on this genre), but it doesn't overcome the general lack of originality that prevails thru most of the movie. The overall thought of "why was this movie made?" prevails over most of the proceedings. Maybe it was a college project for credit that they decided to thrown onto video for distribution(that's my educated guess)?

This movie is so fun, OK, well i will admit, it is a big time Friday the 13th ripoff, but it's such a fun slasher flick! When i rented it, i was gonna get ready to watch it, and then my friends came over and we watched it, and we all liked it a lot, i liked it so much that i bought it soon after. the plot is very basic:A bunch of teens go to a camp and help shut it down for the fall, and then a killer on the loose stalks them one by one. just because it's a ripoff of Friday the 13th, don't worry just give it a chance! If you're in the mood for a fun slasher flick, definitely check if your video store has this, because you won't be disappointed!

First off, let me make sure you don't confuse this piece of garbage with Scream Bloody Murder( this films original title) with another film of that same name, that came out a couple years later. My review is of the one that has a Jason Vorhees knockoff on the cover. I'm not going to waste to much of my valuable time complaining about this, but have to add it ranks as one of the worst slashers ever. No gore, no nudity, no suspense, this could have been screened in a church, and nobody would've been offended. What draws so much hate from genre fans, is the nerve to have a Jason lookalike on the cover, and not include one small piece, of what fans like myself enjoyed in that series. I'd rather watch Ilsa The Wicked Warden with my ultra conservative Grandmother, then have to bear the torment of watching this putrid piece of garbage again.
