Intense, gripping, stylish and poignant
Doomtomylo
a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.

One of the film's great tricks is that, for a time, you think it will go down a rabbit hole of unrealistic glorification.

There is utterly no point to this movie. No amusement. No excitement. Nothing to ponder. The acting is bad. Not terrible. Just bad.I can't feel empathy for these idiots. They are useless people. No skills. No redeeming qualities.Stay clear unless you feel an overwhelming desire to criticize every aspect of a film for an hour and a half.

I'm quite happy for a post apocalypse movie to avoid the how and why questions of what has happened, and to look in greater depth of how those who have survived respond. Nothing wrong with a 'slice of life' story. However one needs to care about the characters to be engaged in the film, and unfortunately this film failed in that respect. Both main characters seemed shallow, or rather it felt that they were not fully fleshed out - as if they were some incidental characters that had suddenly been thrust into the limelight, and the author/writer had not given them a proper back story.
I wanted to like the film - the backdrops were visually appealing, and the basic premise was interesting. But come the final couple of scenes, I found I didn't care about what happened to them. In fact the final scene itself, when the credits roll, I didn't even feel disappointed, the film hadn't engaged me enough for that.
On a final note, I watched this on Netflix, so unsure if it was the film itself or the version I watched, but I found it quite hard to hear - felt they were mumbling half the time.

I was really interested in watching this movie. As a lover of post-apocalyptic movies, I thought he concept was cool. I also like Maika Monroe - she was great in 'It Follows'. Additionally, the trailer showed some incredibly beautiful cinematic shots of Iceland. So I settled in, turned on Netflix, and...NOTHING HAPPENED. It is 90 minutes of nothingness. A boring couple wandering around Iceland and helping themselves to groceries, clothing, cars, and houses. And throughout it all...NOTHING HAPPENED. Well, that's not entirely true. My girl Maika Monroe whined throughout the entire movie (I guess that is technically something), and Matt O'Leary built a water wheel to collect rainwater (that is definitely something...even if it is a boring something). And they did actually find another living soul...an old man...who proceeded to immediately die, probably of boredom. Because other than that, NOTHING HAPPENED. So...if you like to watch boring, whining millennials wander aimlessly through some astoundingly raw and beautiful landscapes for an hour and a half, you'll love this movie. But if you require more...like semi-interesting dialogue, a plot, plot twists, something...ANYTHING...to hold a modicum of your interest, then you will hate this movie. Because...NOTHING HAPPENS! I would have even given it a better score if the whole thing was boring but then there was some interesting twist in the end. But, instead, Maika kills herself (probably also out of boredom) and Matt gets back in his car and drives away, probably because it went with the theme of the movie which is NOTHING HAPPENS.If you find yourself inexplicably drawn to the notion of watching this movie, do yourself a favor and watch 'Here Alone' instead. It has all the components that Bokeh should have had.NOTE: I gave it 3 stars, but all 3 go to the cinematographer. That is the only thing about this movie that is worth your time.

There is absolutely no plot in this movie! Being an Icelander I can't understand why they were always looking for water?
It's like two people searching for sand in the Sahara desert.I get it would be emotionally hard to be the only two people left on this island. And it's cool to explore that but you gotta give me more then just two people talking about water and being depressed. They should have moved to a farm next to a lake, not some mediocre house in the city. And the end was so strange always cutting to this water machine thing scene at the house and it didn't lead to anywhere. And HOW was this icelandic fisherman so thirsty? like I said there's water everywhere. He should know that.
And why didn't they just sail home since she was so homesick? I wish they would have brought some plot twist. I really like the concept.
