The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.

This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.

Boundin' (2003) *** 1/2 (out of 4)Pixar short about a happy-go-lucky sheep who dances his way across his Southern farm until one day his owners show up and shave his wool off. Being naked and embarrassed, he tries to avoid everyone until a jackalope shows up to teach him it doesn't matter what he looks like. I was really shocked at how entertaining this five-minute short was and how beautiful of a message it got across without being overly preachy. The message is hidden in a great musical number that has some very nice lyrics that come across very entertaining and one that you'll be tapping your foot to. The vocal works on all the little creatures is very good and mixes in quite well with the animation. The animation itself is very well done with some extremely nice images including the wonderful sequence where our sheep starts bouncing across various landscapes as his wool eventually grows back. Another nice spot was the actual look of the sheep naked. Very cute all around.

SPOILERS I find it psychotic that I am commenting on this before I comment on the Incredibles. Why I am doing this? I do not think that I am not going to comment on the Incredibles in a long time, so why am I commenting on the short that was before the Incredibles? There is times when you are amazingly desperate, like I am right now. Well, enough about me and let us talk about Boundin'. This was a very solid and cute little children's animated short. Here is the plot of this animated short called Boundin'. It is about a lamb who constantly romps around the outside showing of himself and his wool. It is a little cute world with fish with big eyes. Then, one day, that little lamb is taken and sheared. He has no wool anymore! He becomes bitter and depressed and stops romping. Then, a Jackalope comes to talk to him. Yes, a Jackalope! Did I know what they are? No. Anyway, the Jackalope days that he does not need to look good to have spirit and prance. That brightens up the lamb. He then continues to romp despite the fact that he is ugly.Overall, this is a cute Pixar animated short that is bound to warm your hearts and put a big creepy smile on your face. Dare I say that that this is one of the very best Pixar animated shorts. The Jackalope may be kind of odd at first being that he looks like a rabbit with long moose antlers but he will eventually put hope into the lamb's heart, and you will slowly start to like him, or like him all at once. Anyway, this is a great short that if you have the Incredibles, you should check out.9/10 Recommended Films: The Incredibles, Monsters Inc.

This is a very cute little tale like something you'd see on a PBS children's show or in a kindergarten classroom, only animated brilliantly. The story is humorous and inspiring. There's not much to it really, but look at the animation! That water is perfect... the characters are dynamic and interesting (and do not look like they are off of a static computer model like some more recent animations have been)... even the environmental effects and rain are good. For such a small, rarely focused-on animation, it's a really beautiful project. If you get a chance, listen to the commentary on the Incredibles disc. You'd be surprised how much love and care went into this thing.--PolarisDiB

My comment is in response to the one posted now. It seems to me that Pixar chose to visit the days when shorts were common before an animated feature. Growing up, I and my brother and sister looked forward to the short almost as much as the feature. Clearly Bud Lucky understands the genre.I also take exception with the concept that Pixar has an abstract obligation to their artistic history. Prior shorts have nothing to do with this film. The idea that any artist must top themselves is a concept that has ruined many artists. "Strive to do good work", that is the best any artist can hope for. "Great work" is decided by critics and history.
