I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

One of the most extraordinary films you will see this year. Take that as you want.

Reasons to see this movie: 1. Michael Madsen and his fat woman fetish 2. David Carradine has a brothel and a midget 3-4. The headlights on the girl in the Carradine scene 5. Great kung fu 6. Killer soundtrack from Peter DistefanoReasons not to see this movie: 1. Although well done as a whole it's obvious in places it's low budget 2. Would have liked more action and less love storyOverall, Break is worth a peek. Don't listen to the 'not watchable' morons. It isn't a Hollywood classic, but it's not trying to be and it's a lotta fun to watch.

I saw this movie with my girlfriend the other night and really liked it. It was different than I thought it would be but really liked the vintage noir combined with the comic book twist. Some parts fall a bit flat but the characters are all great, especially Carradine's role considering the details surrounding his demise. It was great seeing Chad Everett show up in a meaty role like this. He was probably the strongest single element, which is saying a lot considering how many elements were thrown in the mix. For a small independent, I think Break is stronger than most. The Europeans don't seem to really enjoy it but I'm glad I checked it out and would recommend it to others who enjoy a good noir flick.

I really, really enjoyed this film!! The idea of matching film noir with a modern action film was so terrific! Fresh approach, unique story line with a sense of humor and a good mix of established stars while introducing some new faces. Great to see so many names on screen lending their talent to a small, independent film. This is what independent film-making is all about. Loved the sensitivity and strength of the lead actor, Frank Krueger, playing a hit man in his first feature and holding his own against, Charles Durning, Michael Madsen, the iconic, Chad Everett and David Carradine in his last completed film before his death. The fight scenes between Frank Krueger and new comer Xin Sarith Wuku are worth the price of admission!! All around really great job!

Surely, the credit card maxed out to make this movie could have been spent on something better. The storyline in parts doesn't make any sense. The directing is not even worthy of a Smithy. The acting is just as bad as the storyline and direction. Trust me, you will thank me later. Save 90 minutes of your life and steer clear of this film.(please excuse the rest of this. IMDb requires 10 lines of text to post and this movie isn't worth the extra lines so here's some filler)Here's the exact same summary to fill space:Surely, the credit card maxed out to make this movie could have been spent on something better.
