The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

The film creates a perfect balance between action and depth of basic needs, in the midst of an infertile atmosphere.

I knew nothing about this film when I saw it, but it turned out to be a good surprise. The atmosphere is weirdly sympathetic, the humor very twisted, the best is made of the idea of the two characters being roadkill cleaners and the actors are fantastic. Joe Unger is very good, going from a nice looser to a very creepy and haunted man. Unfortunately, the big "secret" in the characters past is rather disappointing. It is like if the filmmaker had lost confidence in his story of the 2 guys' jobs being menaced by technology and decided to add a big dark "punch" out of the blue.Still, it is a great little film for lovers of the macabre.

First I'd like to re-iterate the previous comments, they are spot on. Joe Unger is fabulous.Indeed the film is a challenge, but I steer away from films that give you everything on a platter, those that leave the viewer with no questions to ask either of himself or the filmmaker's intent.I caught this one at a film festival where it was hands-down, the best. When it becomes available, I will definitely add Broke Sky to my DVD collection. It wasn't until about halfway through the film that I realized how powerful and innovative that the music was. It didn't upstage but added an enormous amount of subtle thematic emotion. I'd really like a soundtrack CD.

Broke Sky is one of those movies that brings out many different feelings, while watching this movie, I was scared, sad, I laughed, it's an amazing story of these simple guys doing simple jobs, but without expecting the movie turns dark and by the end of the movie you have so many questions, and you have to truly think hard to make the connections and understand the reasons why this simple guy acted that way, I think is because the story was so well written. I watch a lot of movies, but very seldom, I take the time to write down my feelings and impressions. I only do that, when I find an unforgettable day, like the day I went to watch this movie at Universal Studios.

This film absolutely deserves to find an audience. It's not perfect, but it's a lot more challenging and entertaining than 90 percent of the stuff floating around out there. Joe Unger, an extremely under-appreciated actor, has a terrific role and delivers a performance to match. Most of the cast is solid, including indie favorite Duane Jackson. The movie looks great and the Texas setting couldn't have been filmed better. (It reminds me a lot of a crackerjack Joe Lansdale Texas tale.) A very good, knowing movie that includes a lot of detail that adds depth to the story. The filmmakers know the terrain where their story unfolds and they skillfully capture both the people and the place. Good writing. Good (most of the time) acting. Excellent photography. I recommend this one for anyone looking for something different.
