Borgarkeri A bit overrated, but still an amazing film

Teddie Blake The movie turns out to be a little better than the average. Starting from a romantic formula often seen in the cinema, it ends in the most predictable (and somewhat bland) way.

Lidia Draper Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

Allissa .Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.

janschbern This movie is deceptive. What attracted me was the director John Badham. The cast fits the machinations of the plot, how unlikely they may be. There are outstanding questions throughout that seem to make little sense. But for the most part, they are resolved. This is worth the time and effort for a moderately successful mystery, cops, crime, who don it, well shot film. The prime cast is attractive and establishes an ongoing rapport. The film hinges on the seriousness of the action, but the humour leads to some unknown surprises. The relationship among the 3 main protagonists sets up questions as to why and what the bad guy/guys are doing what they are doing. The answers are not straightforward. Recommended

doodlegirl13_2000 It had twists, it had lead characters that weren't perfect, and it had moments of suspense and mystery. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I watched the copy I have at least twenty times, which is a record for me. I loved the riddles that were dispersed throughout, and I found the characters of Lucinda and Ellis Pond to be well-rounded and excellently portrayed. It makes you think, which is more than a lot of people expect from a movie without theatrical release. And for once, the evil bad guy isn't one to make gaping mistakes. Intriguing plot twists, action sequences, and flashbacks help the story along throughout, not that it needs the assistance.

Chewbaccy I don't really care to be honest. It was a very formulaic "thriller" that I didnt bother watching the end. Tripplehorn's career is nosediving at an alarming rate if this is the best she can offer. To be honest I wasnt too disappointed as I didn't expect much, it just passed the time.

Chris Comley The TV guide said this was a "TV movie" and that normally makes me at least look to see what else is on. But then I noticed it was directed by John Badham. (Who's he? Click the link - bet you recognise a LOT of those films!) I decided it had to be worth a look and I'm glad I watched it. It's nicely put together, a thriller that doesn't rely on magic computers, or fancy special effects. Nor is it filled with unlikely occurrences and other evidence that the "artistic licence" has been out of its cupboard. It poses some intriguing questions - I like a film that leaves you thinking "what would I do if...". Nice performances from Tripplehorn and Parke.
