Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.

There's no way I can possibly love it entirely but I just think its ridiculously bad, but enjoyable at the same time.

While "Catch .44" has an incredibly simple storyline, it does have some rather interesting elements; the way that the story was put together with usage of present and past events. But what really carried the movie was some really good acting performances. The story is about Tes, Kara and Dawn who decide to interfere with a drug Exchange, hoping to get their hands on either a large amount of cash or drugs. But the three women find themselves at a remote dinner at 3 o'clock in the night when everything is about to go down.Forest Whitaker was phenomenal in this movie and he alone makes the movie worthwhile to watch. It was also nice to see Bruce Willis in a bad guy role for a change."Catch .44" is driven by a phenomenal parade of acting performances. The movie could have taken on many more dimensions, were it not limited to playing out in a single diner. But director Aaron Harvey did manage to piece together a wholehearted movie. This movie is well-worth watching if you enjoy a fast-paced and entertaining movie, despite its simplicity.

I think whoever produced this film had an agenda-to make one of the worst possible movies without appearing to be doing it overtly. The movie is clichéd and steals from Quentin Tarantino but has none of the flare of a Quentin film-as in no real action sequences unless you count people getting shot as "action." The film has an awkward cast-Bruce Willis playing alongside actresses that seem like they belong in a Lindsay Lohan film and then Forest Whitaker thrown in for 'colour'-I mean the dudes black-how ridiculous can you get? It's coy of the filmmaker to do that plus Forest's accent goes from Spanglish to mid American and then back to Spanglish rendering the believability of his character just about nil. It's a dull movie basically-one that i think seeks to offend audiences more by its banal depiction of North American life like some nightmare version of an episode of the now defunct True Blood-set in a brutal post something world where the rules no longer apply in any recognizable form. Nothing too clear but its definitely there. The person I saw this with liked it but I found myself hating it halfway through. Bruce Willis gives the most lame performance of his career in this one that feature him for probably a total of eight minutes in all. Sheer crap-to put it bluntly.

I didn't see this film before now, because of the bad criticism here on IMDb, and since I've seen Bruce Willis in some rather bad movies for the latter years. But this is not all bad. It's rather entertaining.OK, this is a Tarantino-like film in more than one way, and it is by no way a perfect film, but it is a debut feature by Aaron Harvey. We must credit him for getting both Willis and Whitaker on board. The story is confusing. It's meant to be. Otherwise it would be just another of those movies. But movies which doesn't follow a linear Hollywood dramatic model struggles with getting good reviews and ratings here. But this film is worth watching if you like entertainment and not so obvious stories. There's a considerable body-count and some great Tarantinoish dialogs. Enough to entertain me. The film isn't slow, but quite talkative, and I think it keeps interest, if you're able to follow the many time lapses. We meet the main gangster and three young women doing a job for him. We also meet another bad guy, ready to use the gun. But things go awfully wrong along the way. Who's fooling who?A talented film maker, which needs more help with manuscripts, and we can wait promising things from Harvey. After the first end credit's there is a start of a continuation. I wish it would have gone even further inside this door. Still I'll be there if there's a sequel even if XXX is killed off...

With the exception of the excellent performance from Forest Whitaker Catch .44 has very little to offer. This crime flick really don't have much of a story , and goes the route of ripping off Quentin Tarantino by dragging it out with the overuse of flashbacks. While not as goofy as a Tarantino film , he is an obvious influence .Even Bruce Willis can't save this sinking ship as it centers on three(very hot, but largely uninteresting ) girls who are on a job to steal money from a huge dope deal. The movie however is not dope and now I know why this went direct to video ,it sucks. Catch .44 chooses style over substance and is a waste of the talents of Forest Whitaker and Bruce Willis.
