a film so unique, intoxicating and bizarre that it not only demands another viewing, but is also forgivable as a satirical comedy where the jokes eventually take the back seat.

what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.

This is a great movie mainly for two reasons: 1. The script is not a typical Hollywood story line. It's very realistic and powerful.2. The performances of all actors are superb. In contrast to Hollywood movies, the actors in this movie are not models who decided to move to the film business but real actors.Fortunately, there are still cinema people who do not see movies as commercial products for sale with the purpose of bringing enormous profit to the producers but rather works of art. There is still hope for cinema.

A movie about corruption, friendship and why honor is more important than some fake uniform. The film is violent, dramatic but also really well done in direction and script with some great performances i'm not that big fan of movies that they are from other countries but my god this is easily one of the best ones i have ever seen a Guard becoming friends with an inmate? Cell 211 is a well made, well acted and well directed movie that showed me that not everything needs to be big and loud and have cgi in every scene if they ever top a Prison Break movie like this i will be happy but so far i don't think they can honestly. This movie gets an A + i had fun with it but also it was an amazing masterpiece!!!

Good prison movie has to be relentless and raw. The constrained environment of concrete and prison bars easily makes even a movie viewer claustrophobic. " Cell 211" is exactly that kind of movie. Smart, tense and above all unpredictable. There are twists and turns, but the good kind, logical and connected with the story. There is a sense of immense danger and you can almost smell the sweat and metallic whiff of spilled blood. And there is good, realistic acting, without fake superheroes. Just real people some good, mostly very bad, and the adrenaline pumping and overtaking the viewer. Excellent prison movie, rough and deftly avoiding tired clichés.

Cell 211 is a brilliant drama thriller that centers on rebellion and riot against the status quo. The movie quickly develops the characters with flashbacks and side stories and sets the premise and circumstances early on in the movie. The one thing that comes to mind while watching the movie is Murphy's Law; if something can go wrong, it will.Cell 211 is about two men, both of them in stark contrast with each other: one has everything to live for while the other has nothing to lose. It's a story of how a person falls victim to circumstance and ironically, ambition. The plot is set in a prison where the protagonist- a newly recruited guard- is caught in between a staged riot and is forced to pose as an inmate. Amidst the ulterior motives of the riot and the threat of a mole within the prison inmate foiling the riot attempt, the movie strikes a tense balance between control and chaos, where the protagonist attempts to maintain his impersonation in face of certain death. The movie is written spectacularly and portrays feelings of both betrayal and loyalty, and depicts how people show their true colors in face of changing circumstances to protect their own motives. The movie is a gradual portrayal of a man whose life changes in a day while inadvertently he himself changes with it. Cell 211 is an admirable movie which pulls viewers in quickly and keeps them on the edge of their seat, rooting for the main characters. A must see foreign film.
