Glucedee It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.
Livestonth I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible
Iseerphia All that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
tkchess I read a lot of the comments on here before viewing. OK first off, it is certainly not worth paying money to see in theaters (but that is besides the point considering that it's not in theaters anymore). The acting wasn't bad, nor was the actual content in the movie, but it just felt like the poor man's Superbad...same premise, just done worse.Casting Drake Bell as the lead is a bad idea. I've watched a few eps of his TV show "Drake and Josh". I think it is a pretty decent TV show, just it has him in a dual-lead situation with Josh Peck, and Josh is the real reason the show is as good as some perceive it to be. Casting Drake without Josh is akin to casting David Spade without Chris Farley, to put it better. The other two main characters, the fat one and the nerdy one weren't terrible, but they weren't great either. What you usually find with these trio-lead movies like Superbad, or quad-lead like Road Trip, is good harmony between the characters that makes for some funny situations. There really wasn't much of that in College, especially with the fat one knocking on the nerdy one all the time. Remove that from a movie like this and you are spelling disaster. What made Superbad good was its slapstick comedy and some very good banter back and forth from the all the characters. There wasn't much of that in College, but the movie was comical to watch. OBVIOUSLY what occurs in this movie is not what goes on in college for the most part, but its fun to dream, i suppose.Contrary to what all the 1/10 comments would have you believe, you should be capable of sitting through this movie start to finish. There's a lot of TNA in the movie (look it up if you don't know what it means), so some good eye candy. The only thing that this movie was lacking was some good dry, sarcastic humor that you would find in Superbad and the sort.
MatthewLong23 THis is kind of what you expect out of a college movie. Lots of drinking, girls exposing themselves, and lots of pranks. Some of this movie was kind of funny and entertaining to watch. A lot of it was disturbing and just plain wrong such as when they have to do body shots on fraternity brothers. The things the 3 high school kids do in the end was kind of funny but also very gross. Overall a fun movie at times to watch but disturbing a lot and just plain sick. As a person who was in a fraternity at university nothing like that ever happens. The funniest part of the movie was probably when the kid who has to go in for a grant interview comes in and has his face written on with inappropriate words.
ryob7137 By far the lamest attempt at ripping off the American Pie series that I have ever seen. Anyone who liked this movie has either never seen a good comedy or thinks that crude nudity is very funny. Where to begin, lets start with the shameless attempt at trying to rip off Superbad's casting. Instead of creating an intriguing, interesting and funny threesome, this movie put together and over the top, unfunny, jack ass, with a very boring "normal" character and the stereotypical "nerd". Then you get to suffer through an hour and a half of crude tasteless "humor", gross nudity and totally unrealistic situations. The plot is ripped almost directly from American Pie's Beta House, except it is far less realistic and not at all entertaining. Anyone who has been on any college campus in the past 20 years can tell you that this is nothing like the college experience, this is a shameful attempt at humor and whoever wrote/produced this garbage should be fired immediately. If you would like to suffer through a movie that is annoying from the opening scene and then becomes increasingly more irritating as the very thing plot slowly progresses, then I would strongly recommend that you watch this garbage immediately.
Ben Outerbridge i don't care about the haters. this movie is fun and hilarious.unrealistic? yes. some movies are unrealistic and the unrealisticness makes them all the more enjoyable to watch.rip-offs? yes. this movie is a combination of movies i've seen before. all movies that i've enjoyed watching... such as animal house, superbad, American pie (including sequels and spin offs) , etc... good artists borrow. great artists steal.so if you use clichés from other popular party movies and put it with an original story you come out with something thats really fun to watch. especially if your drunk.my suggestion is to watch it with some buddies and a cooler full of beer for a good old drunken laugh.this is not a great movie. this is a great party movie. so don't take it too seriously. please understand that.and my two favorite characters are carter and bearcat... i don't care what anyone says, they are f***ing hilarious.
