I really wanted to like this movie. I feel terribly cynical trashing it, and that's why I'm giving it a middling 5. Actually, I'm giving it a 5 because there were some superb performances.

The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

I'm not giving a summary because not quite sure how to lay out the plot. So straight to my opinion. Seems most reviewers here have pointed out my main gripes. The fact that not even her mother insists she see a doctor is a point I couldn't get past. She comes home after having a drink at the bar and wow, her mom is perceptive about that but can't see or smell her rotting away?? She even stands in the bathroom while her daughter is vomiting blood and asks if she's pregnant!! And I'm of the same opinion as others who pointed out the friends' non reactions, the inept doc, and the stalker who obviously has no sense of sight or smell as he gets it on with her. The goof section here has covered a couple of errors in logic I was going to point out so no need for that, either. So why am I even writing this? I suppose to air my frustrations but also, I just had to comment on the sunglasses. Can she fidget with them one more time because someone may have missed the first few hundred times! Lol. Ok so this isn't much of a review but since IMDb tossed my beloved message boards, I have no where else to go.
Overall, it's not the worst thing I've seen. At least I was never bored. Incredulous but not bored. I will probably watch it again some night even if just to hate-watch. There were ways to fix these problems without having her confined to a hospital. She ran from everyone at least once anyway so why not because they were forcing her to get help? Oh and if your doc ever tells you to stay away from others for at least 24 hours, according to this film, that means you can go see everyone you know and even have maggot sex!! (Please don't go by the logic of this film)
Positive points? I liked her transformation. Or rather, degeneration. Unlike the characters, I noticed it!

My goodness, what a potentially good low-budget horror film that went south quickly. There are many reviews that mention trying to have a "suspension of disbelief" while watching to enjoy, and I have to agree. However, I cannot get that far with this. I mean, there is not way in Hades that no one could not see what this poor character is going through! Not friends, not the doctor, not lovers, not where she works...wow!Najarra Townshend playing the title character lends decent acting to a bunch of unbelievable occurrences of character/characters in this story once she begins to deteriorate, and she does so rapidly. That part of this horror story does work well and creepy and disgustingly. Everything else, doesn't. Najarra plays a lesbian (well, maybe, maybe not, she's confused-or at least I was trying to figure that out too) who drowns her sorrows at a party after fighting with her lesbian-lover, meets a mysterious man (who is out of focus so you never know who he really is) who spikes her drink and rapes her. The next day, she begins to display some very nasty symptoms. Watching her deteriorate is not for the faint of heart, but she IS deteriorating. She does all the right things - goes to the doctor, calls her employer, etc. but no one who sees her treats her like the walking disaster she is!! Granted, she tries to continue with her life, but she looks like crap and everyone around her treats her like 'well, it's not so bad-but please take care of it when you have time'. Even the physician, which really makes one think. For me, I spent more time wondering about how bad her physician was once she began getting these weird symptoms than anything else that went on. I mean, she SAW all this and what does he do? "Get some over the counter creme". Really?!?! I had a time getting past that than all the things that happened because of it. Add on the self-centered oblivious mom, that you find out isn't really oblivious, but that she had to take care of her daughter during a difficult time and thinks this is it all over again - you sit and wonder, how much ignorance can these folks carry? Well, much - even if you try to suspend some of the actions of the characters. I just couldn't do it fully enough for this film. And the ending -- well, it wasn't very bad...it just could have been better given the circumstances leading up to it.

No plot,no story,no ending, nothing explained...this movie was awful. What happened to Samanta? How did she turn into zombie at the end or whatever that was? What disease did she have? Why did she kill her friends? What happened to the guy that gave her this disease? Also this girl had the worst mother ever. Poor acting, didn't't like the make up,so unreal... The trailer gives a false hope, even the movie itself. At the beginning i was interested but after that i found out what a horrible movie this is.Don't bother watching it.

I am a real fan of this type of film but i couldn't even watch this to end it was so bad. The whole cast give a very poor performance the main characters constant playing with her hair and looking into space shots were very annoying. Any sane person would be off to the hospital after bleeding that much yet she cleans up the mess with a tiny piece of tissue!! Seriously stupid it makes fools out of any viewer. Don't waste any more of your life watching this film
