That was an excellent one.

Good concept, poorly executed.

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

This movie is not sequel or prequel , its' a remake of the first movie, with some different. I enjoyed the opening scenes, if they it was copy of first movie, with bit different as the movies goes on. This actually start on first day of school instead of Summer like the first movie. Evil Kathryn in this movie was decent but nothing compared to Sarah Michelle Gellar but much better portrayed then new guy playing Sebastian. It stated of okay but as the movie went on, I don't believe , it carried that character as it should have been. Well I don't think the script helped in some place, I found some of it so bad.Danielle is the new Annette in this movie, I did not like her at all, I didn't care for at all. However I did like one scenes in this movie, two hot naked girls walking into shower and well they just peck on lip, while seb in the shower! I thought ending was decent, I didn't not expect at all, I thought it was decent turn in the story. 5 out of 10

This was originally intended to be a new TV show. It's supposed to be a prequel to the 1999 movie when the brash Sebastian (Robin Dunne) first meets scheming Kathryn (Amy Adams). Sebastian's father newly marries the wealthy mother of Kathryn (Mimi Rogers). The production quality is much lower than the movie. It just doesn't measure up to the original. Not all of prequel story line up with the movie either. The great thing here is Amy Adams. She is delicious as the evil and snooty school girl. Sarah Thompson plays the goody headmaster's daughter. Keri Lynn Pratt does a funny bit of 'riding a horse'.

In both the first (and best) Cruel Intentions and the 2nd, the "naive girl who must become a slut" is given a Long Island ICe tea and both comment on how it doesn't taste like tea with Sebastion (in the original) and Kathryn (in sequel/prequel) stating "it's from long island" exactly... well i thought it was interesting :)The original Cruel intentions is better because the story has better flow and the actor/esses play their parts so well, yet #2 just jumps from Sebastion from trying to be good and find love to total man slut that follows Katheryn's evil lead... i can see a slow fall, but not that sudden of a drop

This review also contains a spoiler of the first movie -- so if you haven't seen either movie and want to but don't want the spoilers, please don't read this review! While this movie is supposed to be about Christian and Kathryn meeting for the first time, the movie is a poor copy of the first Cruel Intentions. The actors that they had portray Ryan Phillippe's Christian and Sarah Michelle Gellar's Kathryn are very poor substitutes indeed. Neither can pull off the smarmy, snooty rich-kid attitude that the original actors did. It's absolutely appalling that some of the dialog was verbatim -- not so much between Christian and Kathryn, but if you listen closely enough you'll recognize it. There are also inconsistencies in the plot - if this were truly the first meeting of Christian and Kathryn, then why is it that Christian fell in love with a girl at the end of the movie? He supposedly was supposed to be in love for the first time in the original movie (with Reese Witherspoon's character). Also, the tie-in with the photography/"You could be a model" comment at the end was totally lame and didn't add anything at all. Overall, this movie was a waste of time. I can't believe they made a Cruel Intentions 3.
