Jared is closeted. Sam is straight. They find a connection in each other that they've never had before, but where do they go from there? Over the course of three nights, six gay men sat down for interviews about their experiences, sexual and otherwise, with straight men. Those documentary interviews provide the narration for 'Curious Thing' as we watch Jared and Sam form a friendship that tests the boundaries of what they know about love. But as Jared's walls slowly come down and his passion for Sam grows, things take an unexpected turn.

Tetrady not as good as all the hype
HottWwjdIam There is just so much movie here. For some it may be too much. But in the same secretly sarcastic way most telemarketers say the phrase, the title of this one is particularly apt.
KnotStronger This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.
Calum Hutton It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) The 2010 "Curious Thing" is a 9-minute live action short film that is part documentary / part acting. The director is Alain Hain, the writer is Jason Mills. It is about two males between whom romance appeared out of nowhere despite one of them having a girlfriend. I think this was really badly executed. There were two scenes that were extremely cringeworthy in particular, first of all the soft hand touching on the sofa and secondly the kissing and arguing outside. These did feel neither realistic nor authentic. I can only feel sorry for audiences who find these scenes touching. And in the end, oh well, it was all nothing for one of the guys and he is married with a child now of course. But hey it's okay. Everybody's happy right? I am not happy because I just watched a really bad film. Stay far far away.
