Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??

The film makes a home in your brain and the only cure is to see it again.

Ok... Let's be honest. It cannot be the best movie but is quite enjoyable. The movie has the potential to develop a great plot for future movies

It seemed like this movie would be hilarious with John C. Reilly and Jonah Hill, but it was anything but. What I really didn't like was the way it was filmed. Shaky frame, jerky zooming, and parts were like when I take a photo and wait for my camera to focus.DIsappointed.

There are times during "Cyrus" where Jonah Hill says something or looks or moves a certain way that will have you laughing your guts out. He is as nuanced as a comedian gets and is the most awkward movie character I can ever remember. John and Molly, a divorced middle aged man and a single mother played by Jogn C.Reiley and Marissa Tomei meet at a friends party and start up a small relationship. All John has to do now is meet Molly's son... Cyrus. Jonah Hill as Cyrus is a riot, a comedic invention of bold creativity by the Duplass brothers who have invented a character extremely witty and unique. "Cyrus" as a film is also exceptional, exploring an awkward and dysfunctional group of people who through their uniqueness and dysfunction blend together and solve each others problems. "Cyrus" is a just a feel good movie through and through that will have you laughing fro weeks.

Cyrus is a good movie with a well developed storyline and a terrific comedic cast. It's certainly not an outstanding comedy and it's sometimes a lot more dramatic than I feel it actually needs to be, it should have had more funny scenes that were only made for the sake of making people laugh. John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei and Jonah Hill all work really well together, there was great chemistry between all three of them, their acting is very powerful and they clearly had fun making this, they're certainly the highlight of the entire movie. I think Cyrus needed to be developed much more, he was very unlikeable, I know the writers intended on this to a degree, but it needed more scenes to make him feel more human, John and Molly seemed like real people and then Cyrus just felt a cliché comedy movie character, which is not what this movie wanted to be, it wanted to be realistic. It's certainly filled with many flaws, but Cyrus also brings many laughs and has some great acting, I would recommend it if you ever see it on television and have some time to kill. A divorced man falls for a woman he meets at a party, but her 21 year old son aims to wreck the romance. Best Performance: John C. Reilly Worst Performance: Catherine Keener

I didn't see the trailers, consequently I wasn't expecting a zany comedy. Actually the actors' lineup -- John C. Reilly, Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei -- could have also lead me to expect a comedy. But in fact, I wasn't expecting anything. So I was pleased to find a bold movie which kept my interest but left me in the open as to where the story was heading to. In many ways, and although it's in no way a horror movie, it's creepier than "Psycho". It's dark in a good way, like some beers are. If I had stopped watching this movie until 15 minutes before the titles, and had had to describe it, I wouldn't have known how to class or rate this movie. The good thing is, you wouldn't want to quit watching Cyrus until the credits. I didn't, and can consequently rate this movie as great, but I won't tell you the synopsis because I want you to see the movie for yourself. That's how great it is.And it's good to see that unconventional movies like that are still coming out of a mainstreamed hellhole like Hollywood.
