What a waste of my time!!!

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

an ambitious but ultimately ineffective debut endeavor.

Seriously, i loved watching the TV series when i was a teen, it was over the top, kind of stupid sometime, but most of the episode where really fun and the absurdity of it made it good. But the movie, even with a way bigger budget than the series, is nowhere near as good. For example the running gag of Serge 1,2,3 get really way too far as being Serge 6 in just 2 hours. When there was dryers coming from the sky i was like "seriously wtf". I remember there was some very weird gag back then, but it was always done in a way it would be funny and at least a little bit believable. Anyway i didn't like the movie and never even saw the second one. When im bored maybe ill give it a try someday, but i was disappointed by this and i feel with a larger budget they could have do much better.

I watch this movie a second time, in fact, I give it a try, and I finally understand why their so many fans out there ! I'm one of them now, because it's sarcastic, it's so sarcastic that you need to flush your brain in the toilet for 2 hours, because you will seriously feel a lot of pain sitting and watching this movie ! It's pure jokes, lot of fun, an experienced casting, I watched the whole series and now this great and entertaining movie... my only little complain is the work of Sylvie Moreau, dosen't sound good for me, but, maybe that's because I don't like her in her way to act ! Still, I saw both movies and this one, even if it's not as good as the sequel and with the B-movie look, it's still a lot of fun to watch !!

I must admit that it's rare that I like french films. However, this one not only met my expectations, I've never laughed so much. I must warn though that if you're not into stupid comedies, you might not like it as much. But, for a mature family, it's worth watching. Thus, like Jules Caesar once said, a clean tie attracts the soup of the day.And for you English readers who don't understand french, I ask, how did you get here? Seriously, if you're venturing into french films, you can't go wrong with this wonderfully subtitled comedy. Be warned though, some jokes are cultural and don't really translate all that well. But if you're English Canadian, good chance you'll still get most of the laughs.

The year is 2039. The situation on Earth is more than catastrophic. The ozone layer has been completely destroyed by the carbon dioxide from the automobiles and chemical industry. We must find a new planet to host six billions of humans. To do this, the spaceship Romano Fafard is sent "where man'd never been before" to find the new Earth. Adapted from the popular teen-oriented TV series, this sci-fi comedy, one of the finest movies of 2004 in Quebec, follows the adventures of the crew of Canada, the first global power (in the movie...). There is courageous and "mispeller" captain Charles Patenaude, sinister scientist Brad Spitfire, loyal second officer Flavien Bouchard, therapist Valence Leclerc, fat and less-than-genius pilot Bob, doctor Petrolia Stanislavski and funny robot Serge. This movie is really funny, one of the best Quebec comedies since a decade. There is a lot of caricatures of real life and some kind of philosophy behind the story, especially at the end, that gives some seriousness to the movie. Somehow, there is also some non-funny sequences and scenes where it is highly recommended to be mature to watch. There are also ridiculous ideas like the dryer machines shower and the beauty cult, where bigger is nicer. Globally, a must-see movie with your family.
