climbingtiger957 Am i only the one of few who thought this movie was trash !unless most of the reviews were written by junior school kids .the plot was terrible ,acting was terrible ,i actually turned it of ten minutes before the end because i was so bored with the same old plot.no real story behind it except for a document that i cant even remember what it was about.he had no super powers i can remember except he didn't feel pain ,and was a bit stronger than others ,could he take a bullet hmm not sure ,just made no sense ,shoulda called it mr.crispy ,really bad film with awful acting ,i wonder how he made a rubber willy for himself ??

Sager Story of a man who, due to an accident, was deformed. For that reason he was covered with fabrics, having lost the love of his life. Liam becomes a punisher seeking for revenge. He (tries to) move like a shadow. As for acting, Liam was convincing, whereas his girlfriend was a disappointment. However, the script didn't help her as well since the role she was given was not a basic one. She only existed so that the existence of the darkman could be justified.Well, can't say that I didn't like the movie, but it didn't surprise me. I anticipated what happened. The movie was attempted to be something between adventure, mystery, drama and thriller. I can't say that it totally succeeded it. In any case, you don't lose anything watching it...

SnoopyStyle Robert Durant (Larry Drake) is a ruthless gangster who likes to collect the fingers of his enemies. Peyton Westlake (Liam Neeson) is a scientist working on a liquid skin but it has a fatal flaw of breaking down in the sunlight after 99 minutes. His lawyer girlfriend Julie Hastings (Frances McDormand) uncovers an incriminating memo from developer Louis Strack Jr. (Colin Friels). Louis sends Durant and his thugs to retrieve the memo. They kill Peyton's assistant, destroy his lab and leave him for dead. Peyton is assumed dead and barely survives as John Doe. His doctor severs his pain nerves. It leaves him with bouts of anger and unnatural power. He reconstitute his lab and creates masks of Durant's gang to cause chaos within the crime family. He recreates his face to reconnect with Julie. He becomes Darkman.This is a wonderful creation by Sam Raimi. He uses a lot of his horror experience to bring a style and special effects skill to the movie. It certainly is a nice progression for him from Evil Dead to Spider-Man. The only drawback for me is the 99 minutes. It would be even more compelling if the skin would disintegrate with sunlight. It would mean that Darkman would have exist in the dark. It would simplify his identity and make it real cool. He would be Dracula where his face melts in sunlight. The acting is top notch. It's a great entry in the comic-book style movie.

Spikeopath Sam Raimi's trial run for the Spider-Man franchise is a whole bunch of fun. Liam Neeson plays Dr. Peyton Westlake, a super scientist who after a major run-in with the villainous Robert G. Durant (Larry Drake), reinvents himself as Darkman, a super-anti-hero who sets about ridding L.A. of its mobsters.It's a comic book film that isn't based on a comic book, Raimi inventing his own tortured protagonist whilst homaging similar beings of eras past. All the silliness of such fare is here of course, overblown violence and colourful characters are frequent, but there's good thought gone into the revenge theme, while the action sequences are often excellent. The pace hardly sags, as Raimi's creations move about a Los Angeles that is equally decaying or affluent, and in Neeson the story has a lead actor with swagger, pathos and emotional force in abundance. 7/10
