This is a must-see and one of the best documentaries - and films - of this year.

It is neither dumb nor smart enough to be fun, and spends way too much time with its boring human characters.

I first saw this in college back in 2001 and thought it was one of the funniest short films I've ever seen. Some people will find this movie funny, others maybe not. You just have to recognize that it's intended to quirky and over the top melodramatic. John Popper does a great job narrating, the sound fx were great, and of course the slideshow/bedtime story approach is an interesting combination. And then of course there's the evil spirits thrown in for good measure. It's barely a ten minute film - take the time and watch it. It's worth it!

I absolutely LOVE this film. I love watching the short film collections on IFC, and this one is easy to miss because it's the very last one. I love how it starts out as sweet and innocent, then TWIST! You never expect what happens to happen in a million years. The funniest part is the chainsaw, because Sparkles appears out of nowhere accompanied by a loud chainsaw sound. And his accent adds a great touch. Then you get another twist at the end. This film is very entertaining. If you have a good sense of humor, you'll like it.

This slide-show presentation contains no movements or dialogue but there is a super plenty amount of blood. It contains a surprise ending that may take away from the believability of the show, but I am told that all of the facts within it are true. This twenty minute short was able to do what the Puppet Master movies couldn't do with nineteen full feature films. The special effects of this movie are really extra good when you stop and consider how none of it has any motion. It is easy to watch to because it beeps when the slide is supposed to be changed, which is something what was quite useful to me. I will give it several stars (at this point I am undecided as to how many I will give)

So I'm watching IFC's Short Film Collection and this comes on.It starts out like a cutesy kid movie about this sweet old man that owns an antique show and his beloved clown. Then the clown comes to life and starts killing people, what is THAT about? Despite the completely bizarre story, it was nevertheless an incredibly intriguing short film. The slide show style was something I'd never seen before and it really made for a different experience since there was really no MOVEMENT on screen, only stills. The dialogue-free narration was also interesting and made for a 'book-like' feeling to the movie, like a story being read to you. However, due to the graphic nature of the plot I would not recommend it for the faint of heart, only die hard indie fans.
