Did you people see the same film I saw?

The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

It was hailed as his "farewell tour" - a career-spanning retrospective setlist with all his greatest hits, and the more recent instant classics such as the Trent Reznor collaboration "I'm Afraid of Americans" (a surprisingly catchy tune).Bowie's vocals are at his best here - his voice has certainly improved with age. It's deeper, has more range and his falsetto is simply amazing.Songs like "Rebel Rebel," "Space Oddity," "Ziggy Stardust" and "Suffragette City" are entirely catchy and others can range from mellow to upbeat.This is an essential DVD/audio CD for any fan of Bowie. If you're not a fan it's also a good place to jump in because it has all his best songs in one place. Or, start with the Singles album, which has the studio versions.

David put together a fabulous tour band and knocked us all out with the best "vocal performance" of his career. The filming of the show is outstanding and the sound is superb, so be prepared to crank it up and have fun. We were so impressed by his vocals on this time out of the gate that we compared it with playback from "CDs", with-out a doubt the mans voice is better than at anytime in his career. David has traditionally enjoyed his time in front of his fans. This film captures the enjoyment that he has, watching us enjoying him. As a performer and a mature rock artist he really has a great list of tunes that he put together for the tour and the film. If you do not own a David Bowie music film and you only have a desire to purchase one, this is the film to get for the variety of tunes and the quality of the vocals. If you missed this tour and have not been following David Bowie recently there are enough new songs with the old stand-bys to bring you back up to date. A lot of fun and a great addition to any rock film collection.

This DVD is amazing for Bowie fans. He is amazingly still very much on top of his game with this performance. The sound and video quality are amazing, on my modest home theatre setup anyway. The features aren't exactly the greatest. There's a clumsy jukebox function that I gave up on, I would just use the jump forward control on the DVD player or possibly program the sequence if your player does that. Most of the new stuff is great and he performs the old numbers in a way that gives you goosebumps. The duet with his guitarist/backup singer on Under Pressure is amazing and his vocals on older songs like Fantastic Voyage have made me look back at some of his older stuff I'd forgotten. The best tracks on this DVD are Under Pressure, Fantastic Voyage, and Never Get Old, in my opinion, but the whole disc rocks. I got mine at Target for just $9.99, worth checking out.
