Best movie of this year hands down!

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.

All I can think about is wanting to pop Sam's zits. I also want Rourke and Ethan to sit on my face. It was poorly written and poorly directed. Why would they waste the money on this? They should have spent some of the money on makeup, especially with that old dude Frank. Johnny Strong sounds like a porn star, which he could be, if it was straight porn. I hope these are enough lines for you. I think padding my review with superfluous text is stupid I can be quite succinct with my words on such a trivial production. There is a lot of shooting and killing in this movie. They save all of the women and children in this movie, just as one would expect.in this type of movie. I hope that you enjoy it.

I have to ponder how this got so many good reviews. Are all of the reviewers from Texas, where this was filmed? I watched it the other night on Starz and was bored virtually from the beginning. This is just another movie where they couldn't make up their mind to make a zombie movie or a vampire movie, so they made the creatures (just dirty faced people who can be spotted more than once - blame that on budget and lack of decent make up, the SFX are pretty sparse too, for 2 million they didn't really get their money's worth) a cross between the two. Sunlight and bullets will kill them. The story is kind of silly. One guy is hunting the Vombie Alpha who killed his wife and kid. He's made it - On his own - from the Bronx down to Texas. He never seems to run out of ammo and every shot is pretty much deadly. He saves a woman (who is a pretty bad actress and judging from her character, shouldn't have been with the two cops she pretty much gets killed) by killing about 7 ravagers, none of whom seem to be able to hide before being shot. They save a woman who's nuts. She's trying to breast feed a doll (which is a decent idea but how has she survived?) Few if any of the people in this have any survival instincts at all. Supposedly an unknown plague caused this. So where is the LAST place one wants to stay when a plague erupts? A city. Anyhow, the story is kind of dull and familiar. The main character, a loner ala Mad Max, has one expression and can barely act, but since he produced it, gets to be the star. I don't know how they got Lance Henriksen to be in this, but he's the best and worst part of it. His acting is fine, but his character is dumb as a rock. Vampires have to sleep in the day, yet some of these are always awake. I don't want to give away anymore, but if I knew where a whole nest of Vombies was hiding out, I'd either A) get the hell out of dodge. or B) Burn that place to the ground. Well a lot of folks liked it, but I'm not one of them. I imagine this movie (quite PG rated really) will show up as another lameoid on the SyFy channel pretty soon. P.S. The Poster makes this film look way better than it is.

the best thing about the movie ... that the zombies are fast and working like species ..and moving in hordes ..which make them dangerous not like the slow zombies like the ones in the walking dead.. but what makes TWD great is the acting and the writer who put himself in every situation .. and make you engage in the movie ... and gives you much things to think about .. and this didn't happen in daylight end we will know that the main character wont die and wont face any problem he like terminator or something .. and this what make this movie weak ..i wont talk about his acting it was too bad no feelings no nothing .. and he was the worst actor of the whole cast .. now we come to the story ... the first and the second scene were great until they got inside the prison or whatever .the girl said that she found a plan and it was working ..she cant know , because she doesn't know anything about planes ? ... OK now they put him in a cell OK thats good . what happened in the morning what made this movie so cheap ... the zombies or whatever just attacked them without any introduction just like that they decided to attack and they some how entered the secured building .. at least add some details ..how did they got in .after they killed them all .. they decided to make a plan to get out of the building .. they were searching for a solution and the best solution they come up with was so stupid and irrelevant the solution was to kill the boss (alpha) , they shouldn't have a boss but the point is , how killing him will help them to get out ? or slow zombies down ? .. now they went to kill the ( alpha ) ... but their plan failed of course it will ,, all the three guys were killed but superman .. now the other people were searching for cars to transport people to the plan and they found a bus so superman solution was stupid and the whole horde followed him to the building and he ruined the whole thing .. after they went back to the building they finally decided to fight them .., so they killed them all and most of them died ( as long as superman lives no problem at all ) and this what will make any movie fails ..the direction was so bad like old action movies ...the story was so naive and not deep . so my vote will be 2 out of 10

I usually avoid zombie movies because they seem silly, (I am more interested in fictional portrayals of possible real life villains, both civilian and government in origin), but this one was worth it for a U-verse rental. It has an excellent musical score that heightens the suspense and tension, surprisingly good to excellent acting, decent direction, and an interesting plot line (once you accept the premise of the sci-fi zombies and their mysterious origins There is quite a bit of gore. Some good people die, and they are not red shirts, so the movie is not for the faint-heart-ed.There are a few potholes and inconsistencies (e.g., why did they only have two of the women shooting and serving as armed defenders, whereas I would imagine Texas cops three years into the apocalypse, if not before, would have trained all of their physically able wives and girlfriends in their sanctuary in basic handgun, shotgun, and rifle use, given they had no ammo shortages, even if they would not have become SWAT-like tactical fighters, or perhaps the ladies could have helped with some shooting and rifle hand-offs to keep the zombies at bay). Some of the battle scenes are a bit repetitive and a little like a video game. At the beginning, it was also unclear to me how the main character, played by Johnny Strong, was finding gasoline as he Mad-Maxed it across the U.S. (especially 3 years out, when most car gas would have started degrading)Overall, however, a very good job for a low budget movie.
