Very well executed

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

The movie really just wants to entertain people.

Decay is a British zombie film with a brilliant unique concept. Alas that is the single only thing it has going for it.Telling the story of a group of young physicists who discover that an experiment has gone wrong and the underground tunnels have become bombarded with radiation while a team is down there. Before they know it they are besieged by its victims who have returned as the undead.I liked the idea and initially I thought this might be something special.Sadly it wasn't meant to be. This claustrophobic tale features some of the worst acting I've seen in a longtime, a laundry list of goofs including an actors hair length/style changing between scenes! How in the blue hell did they not resolve that? The zombies look terrible, the soundtrack is laughable and the whole thing became a chore to watch.Still a step up from the likes of The Zombinator (2012) but not by much. If you want zombies go check out Train To Busan (2016) or Wyrmwood (2014) The Good: Great idea for the zombie outbreak The Bad:SFX are weak Acting is dreadful Laden with goofs and inconsistenciesThings I Learnt From This Movie:I need to take a break from the zombie genre

Shot on a minuscule budget, this is a zombie chase movie, set in the bowels of CERN, Switzerland. To my knowledge, all of the cast are physicists as opposed to actors, so you have to excuse the somewhat leaden delivery of lines and expressions. The zombie makeup is OK, £2000 doesn't buy a lot of latex and fake blood. So, a group of 5 student types have to survive an accident with the reactor, which causes a maintenance team to be transformed into zombies. There is a subplot about the Higgs particle having a detrimental effect on human tissue, which leads a mysterious person to sabotage the reactor, causing the accident in the first place. The editing is largely very good, the direction is OK to good, and you get to have a look at miles and miles of dark, pipe filled corridors at the CERN complex. As the group inevitably get whittled down, leaving one survivor to figure it out and try to get help. It's worth a look, even if it is to inspire potential novice film makers to get off their backsides and have a go.

This comes with a marketing buzz . Written and directed by a real life physicist Luke Thompson on a budget of £2,000 DECAY centres around the premise of things going wrong at the Haldron Collider in Switzerland . You know what the Haldron Collider is don't you ? That's the famous energy particle accelerator that made headlines a few years back when some scientists tried to block the experiments via a court order claiming it might destroy the world by creating a black hole fears which turned out to be unfounded . When a scientist who knows what he's talking about uses the topical intangible fears of science to create a premise for a film then that that film is surely worth tracking down isn't it ? Thompson deserves great credit for getting off his backside and making a movie . While the vast majority of wannabe directors sit around and whine that no one recognises their undiscovered genius Luke Thompson has put his own money where his mouth is and produced on a shoestring budget a well shot , well edited film complete with convincing make up and a musical score that suits the film . Need I repeat that this only cost £2,000 ? Put it like this - every small group of film students must know several people who could raise a few hundred quid in return for a executive producers credit . This film proves there's no excuse for not making a low to no budget movie There is a problem with having a minuscule budget and it's obvious what it is - the cast . No offence but they really are quite dreadful in their debut roles all of whom are appearing in a movie for the very first time . Imagine you're trapped in a building and rabid blood thirsty zombies are trying to eat you alive ? How would you react ? Yeah me too but the cast here more often than not give the impression that someone has just turned off their favourite TV show rather than having to fight for their lives against zombie hordes . It's also a rather vapid menace of zombies when the Hadron Collidor offers so much scope for potential monsters like aliens from another dimension or anti-matter men but I guess having a few extras with fake blood running around pretending to be the undead is far easier to realise on screen than more imaginative creations I really did want to love DECAY and some of my expectations were meet and even exceeded from a technical film making point of view . One should perhaps be more forgiving towards the amateur cast but unfortunately they're a bit too amateur and it's interesting the film works much better in the second half when there's little dialogue hence the characters don't have to say any lines in a distracting , stilted manner . Perhaps Thompson should have invested just a little more money casting professional actors . As it stands the general consensus on this page is close but no cigar and I quite agree

Stressfully dumb. Never seen anything this lame. Its such a slow movie not sure if its the directing or the actors just sucked. Good storyline but totally boring acting and direction too slow, and lacking logic. The girl who is supposed to be the main actor looked like she was already bitten before she actually was. Not sure what her qualities were other than being blonde. Totally didn't look sharp at one point one of her friends is bitten and then she runs off and stays in a corner while her friend gets devoured, totally lacking logic. and whatever those things were they moved faster than the ones that were not infected. I say this is a case of more money and time than brains. If you wanna be stressed out watch this. I wanna punch whoever directed this. Whoever directed this trying using your brain. Logically if there is any kinda danger ppl don't react like that. that was very annoying. Try writing and directing for smart people with a brain. This didn't make any sense.
