Wonderful character development!

The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.

It isn't all that great, actually. Really cheesy and very predicable of how certain scenes are gonna turn play out. However, I guess that's the charm of it all, because I would consider this one of my guilty pleasures.

This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows

I was in the mood for an afternoon of horror flicks. I checked out Demon Baby from my local Redbox and sat down anticipating to be scared in the daylight. I am so disappointed. The acting was passable, the story line confusing, the scares were nil, and no explanation as to what the hell I was watching. As other reviewers have mentioned, by the title of the movie you are expecting a Rosemary's Baby or something similar. I sat through the movie just waiting for something to happen. There were a few brief glimpses of a ghostly apparition, but without context, they didn't make sense. Actually, the movie never made sense in relation to the title of the movie. "Wandering Rose" is a much better title as that is all Rose ever did.Save your money. And for Pete's sake, change the title of the movie and the cover graphics. Completely misleading.

I bought this at the Redbox expecting some sort of demon baby wrecking havoc. If it was intended to be a psychological thriller then I certainly didn't notice it. The movie plods along like something is going to happen, but it leaves me with too many questions than having any of them answered. So is the ghost supposed to be her? Is it supposed to be a friend that died that's passing her baby onto her? Maybe her boyfriend was the devil and he passed something evil onto her? If anyone knows the answer, maybe you can clarify... because I didn't get a single thing about it. I see things of baby talk and camping out in the woods but nothing really makes a whole lot of sense. It doesn't help that the only two options in the DVD - this is from Redbx, so it's to be expected - just the trailer and the film itself. Literally no discussion or talk about what it's supposed to mean. If there's one thing I don't like about indie films like this, too much time goes into trying to be the next 'The Sixth Sense' and 'Rosemary's Baby' but they only cover half or even remotely partly half of what those movies were about. This film left me wanting more and yet deep down I felt cheated... is there some part 2? Was a bulk of the film cut out or something? I have no idea.Next time you make a movie like this, please, for the life of me, give me some clues! The bones are all here but this Halloween treat has no meat to it. I wanted candy but you gave me just the wrappers. No fair, buddy!

It's a good thing that the movie was so dull or I would not have had the chance to fully grow to hate Rose's character. Annoying, whiny, dismissive and selfish. I suppose that indicates good acting, that I had such a strong reaction to her?The soundtrack was interesting and had some odd choices, but it fit with the moments. The acting was fair, but very poor on the part of Officer Thwaites. His odd behavior and strange, creepy way of speaking and looking at them had me thinking he would be a "bad guy". Nope - just weird, apparently. The plot was weak and never reached an adequate conclusion in my view. The action scenes were completely random, without enough back story as to why she would act that way. Just crazy? Lame.It passed a (very brief) amount of time while I was working, but not at all worth seeking out or re-watching.

There's no way of putting it mildly. Demon Baby is barely passable as a family vacation video. Take a few actors in camping site, make them act with inconsistent script and call it a movie. The entire short length of the movie is Rose having pregnancy scare, she's moody and grumpy while Theo plays the compassionate lover role. For those hoping for good psychological twist or any coherency at all, the movie will disappoint. It delivers little to no depth, not to mention the narrative stumbles around like Rose actually does on-screen. With barely over an hour runtime, much of it is spent in slow pace bantering and resulting in timid scare at best. It can't decide if it opts for possession, usual haunting or psychological breakdown, so it mashes all tidbits and creates a shoddy excuse for thriller. If there's anything, at least the view is kind of nice and the actors do try. Soundtracks remind me of Silent Hill, not bad considering the limited production value. Honestly, this looks like a tryout in local cinema or the director's personal tape. Highly not recommended.
