The thing I enjoyed most about the film is the fact that it doesn't shy away from being a super-sized-cliche;

Tone, Script & Story: The aliens have inhabited an area on Earth creating slums. The area is known as district 9. Humans have appointed a team which would help them shift Aliens to new area district 9. The story also highlight's an officer which has turned alien, after getting exposed to their technology. Will he turn human again? What will it take? The above two questions along with the love life of alien turned human set a bar in entertainment that's not easy to break.Direction, Screenplay, Cinematography: I usually don't go praising CGI maybe because I don't find worth it, but here in this movie I praise it, it was good.Final Verdict: In the run, we get on a roller coaster that's full of entertainment. You cannot afford to miss this if you are a sci-fi fan!

In War For The Planet Of Apes, Blade Runner, and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, we have already seen stupid settings that humans are evil, ignorant and greedy, while the non-humans are sympathetic, determined and smart. Here in this Sci-Fi thriller, we see this setting again. The plot simply lacks any sense of credibility. The visual effects are cheap and lousy. The cameras are shaky and intolerable.

I personally loved this movie. Instead of the generic alien attack portrayed by most sci-fi movies, this one gives a more realistic approach if an alien race came to earth with no place to live and nothing to eat. It's really interesting to see them semi-integrated in society, and how the humans treat them. I felt really bad for the Prawns after watching the movie because they were discriminated and treated really realistically. I also enjoyed the action and creative weaponry and technology.

This film shows quite clearly what the writer of the story thought about apartheid, an idea of a time he could have no clue about. First of all Neill Blomkamp was born near the end of apartheid and was too young to have seen any of the "unfairness". Then he also immigrated to Canada at the age of 18, meaning that he was from a strong financial family. To top things off he attended Vancouver University, a feat that no upper middle-class family could dream to achieve. So I want to know, what on earth made him an "expert" on apartheid and what on earth was he thinking bringing aliens into it all?!The film is basically an ANC propaganda film, with Wikus playing the part of FW De Klerk and Christopher playing the role of Nelson Mandela. Two different species (races) uniting for the freedom of the majority. It is a film about a smart alien race who endured space for years with technology that would destroy anything we can throw at them yet they were too "stupid" to use this tech for some reason??!! Was it because Neill sees black south africans as stupid? The main character Wikus was a prawn hater turned prawn lover without reason or premise. My review might not be the best worded, but it's because too many angry thoughts are going through my head, this was horrible and a waste of money making it so high budget just to spread more false south African propaganda. The only reason this film isn't getting a 1/10 from me is because as a south African I feel the need to give higher rating for our films, but this is with a very heavy heart
