Interesteg What makes it different from others?
Robert Joyner The plot isn't so bad, but the pace of storytelling is too slow which makes people bored. Certain moments are so obvious and unnecessary for the main plot. I would've fast-forwarded those moments if it was an online streaming. The ending looks like implying a sequel, not sure if this movie will get one
Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
Bob This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.
pythamaxx this movie is great n not just for the kids as many reviewers suggest. movie is not just about the james bond stuff or the world war or even some hi tech crazy robots trying to save humanity or watever.. its good to see reality sometimes..real life is more basic about love, affectionate, survival of all animals and human beings.. its so sick sometimes dat ppl only love movies with hot ass girls, crazily agents (the whole sex appeal bullshit thing..), n crazy robots..common do these things hardly even impact our life to the truth n presence..?? animal love is a great achievement only possible through a lot of effort and understanding and sacrifices.. even for the good sake of ecological system.. i admire this movie for its excellency in performance and presentation, for its effort in reality of the animals n even in the shoot (coz its not at all an easy task to shoot animals in movies... much difficult and patience requiring than shooting actors).. all in all a great movie... a great lesson..
allegro16 Before I watched it, I thought that this was just another movie about animals....nothing special. But after watching it, I realized that this was a truly heart warming movie that reached deep down to your heart. Watching this movie makes you appreciate marine life and, especially the beauty of dolphins and their relationship with us humans. For me, the best scene of the entire movie is the ending where Hope & Winter starts to accept each other....and then following that, the real footage of Hope & Mandy. Coupled with Gavin DeGraw's song which really goes along with the scenes, the last part will make you shed tears. All in all, this is a great and inspiring family themed movie, portraying good values.
jfgibson73 I think a big part of what made this movie enjoyable for me is that they played it safe. Nothing in this movie disrupts the gentle optimism DT1 established--the kids are still devoted to marine conservation, the corporate management still consents to do what is best for the animals, the community stills supports the aquarium and all it's efforts. This time the story is more for younger viewers. Adults will notice quickly that the characters often behave like they are in a soap opera and and aren't reacting like any person actually would. The central conflict of the movie is that Winter the dolphin may have to get relocated to a new facility. They are careful to say that the animal would be placed in a marine park so that we assume Winter will be forced to perform and unhappy. Otherwise, the problem is that the adults are losing their meal tickets, not that the dolphin is in any danger. Harry Connick Jr probably ruined his chances of ever getting another role of any worth with his angry overreactions to situations that normal adults could easily talk through. Again, younger viewers wont see anything wrong--for them this is another chance to spend more time with the characters and the animals. So that's alright. And baby Hope is really cute. Family=satisfied.
Edgar Allan Pooh . . . can be subtitled SOUL DOLPHIN, for the cameo appearances of SOUL SURFER heroine Bethany Hamilton (among many reasons), can Winter-the-Dolphin's next outing HEAVEN IS FOR DOLPHINS be very far off? DOLPHIN TALE 2 makes it crystal clear that these bottle-nose flicks need to come out every couple years to underwrite the paint jobs that Clearwater, FL's corrosive sea air and U.S. animal regulations require. Hopefully, this next spray paint fund-raiser will be a little more upbeat than this "Winter of my discontent," to quote another perennial film headliner also stricken with scoliosis, RICHARD III. Parents of little ones and PETA types should be forewarned that DOLPHIN TALE 2 includes cannibalistic scenes of fairly large fish being EATEN ALIVE by even bigger "fish," as Morgan Freeman's Dr. McCarthy character would say. Perhaps these gastronomical horrors were actually filmed in Quebec, and the AHAD--which gave DT2 its Seal of Approval #04440--could not afford to send a rep way up there, thus missing the atrocities. So why did Alice Cooper catch so much flack for eating a bird on stage?
