Softwing
Most undeservingly overhyped movie of all time??
Borgarkeri
A bit overrated, but still an amazing film
Senteur
As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" brings back the old band including old big bad Freezer... I mean Frieza. Some of Frieza's people are still alive, and they find the dragon balls, resurrect him and give him some time to power up. All the while, Kuririn is happy as a cop, Son Gohan as a regular and average person and Piccolo taking care of Son Gohan and Videl's child. But when Frieza decides is time to carry out its vengeance, they will have to do their best to stop it... well, till Son Goku and Vegeta are back from their constant training."Dragon Ball" (and "Z") are history, legend in the anime world. The first part was more humorous, silly, with character development and lots of adventures, while the "Z" part became a non-stop of fighting and a constant introduction of new and badder enemies (which Son Goku always had to defeat), video game style. It still had humor and adventure, but they were left in the background. It was fun, but it became too much. This movie suffers from the same. The first part, lighter in tone, and with the typical cameos of different characters, like the aforementioned Videl, Android No.18 or always fun to meet again Pilaf and hench-couple are silly and funny. The second part, though, falls into a too long, too much, too repetitive, we all really know how it is going to end fighting. First, Kuririn, Piccolo, Son Gohan ('ironic' that Kuririn tells Android No.18 to stay home while Master Roshi joins the team)... appear and fight with Frieza's people. And then Son Goku appears and does what he always does (which the viewer, when they see the movie, will understand). It is just not very original or fun.The movie ends up just being light entertainment, that will be enjoyed the best by fans (but even those will probably think it is just too much of the same).

Such lazy imagination, this was the most hyped Dragon Ball movie ever and all we got was some B rate story to lure kids to join the fandom and on the way making money by selling toys. The only thing that was good about it was the opportunity to show more details about Frieza's Army and the Animation. Here are my thoughts about this movie from my blog (no need to Copy+Paste it all here): The major issue I had was with the casting: how on Earth did Toriyama suddenly placed the weak pervert, Master Roshi, above Yamcha & Chiaotzu? Why Goten and Trunks didn't made an appearance? http://nivlugassiarts.blogspot.co.il/2016/08/ Search for the Yamcha & Chiaotzu post.Another issue that I have was why hyping Tagoma so much on the poster if he was going to die 10 minutes into the film? What about Frieza's ridiculous power boost by just training for 4 months? So he could have taken Majin Buu, whom he used to fear all his life, so pathetically easy if he'd just shoot holes through Zarbon or punching Dodoria for 4 months straight? What a lame excuse for rehashing a character, I'd rather having a new character/villain introduced to the franchise - who was always this crazy level strong - over Frieza every few pieces of the franchise.http://nivlugassiarts.blogspot.co.il/2016/12/my-suggestions-to-how- resurrection-f

Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F', the newest theatrical release from the popular anime series Dragon Ball Z, is one film that fans of the series must watch. Once again Goku is called to defend the Earth. However, Goku's enemy this time is an old foe risen from the grave, Frieza. Can Goku defeat an evil resurrected? With a returning voice acting cast from Battle Of Gods, Akira Toriyama's own personal supervision and a talented animation crew, Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' does justice in delivering fast paced action. What fan doesn't want to see Goku beat up on an evil villain? However, while scenes with action excel, the scenes where no action takes place are lackluster.Resurrection 'F' picks up a few months after the events from Battle Of Gods, where the Earth is found safe after Lord Beerus decides to spare the Earth from destruction. But typical of the series, there is always a calm before the storm. The remnants of Frieza's army enact their plan to resurrect Frieza using the power of the Dragon Balls. With their plan a success, Frieza plots to take his revenge against Goku and his friends. The animation for the film was well done and had an attention to detail. The animation style shown is better than what normal television cartoons show. When it came to the animation, Toei Animation Studio was chosen for their past work on previous films for the Dragon Ball Z series. Detail was put extensively on body and facial features of each character. Scars and battle wounds received from fights didn't disappear but were held constant throughout. In addition, Toei Animation used CGI during some of the most intense fight scenes. The purpose of the CGI was to highlight each punch and kick thrown, instead of the usual blurred lines that convey intense movement.Along with great animation, the English voice acting in Resurrection 'F' should be praised. Resurrection 'F' has the returning English voice cast of 2014's Battle Of Gods with the addition of Christopher Ayres being cast as the voice of Frieza. While the entire voice cast's performance was phenomenal, special praise should be given to Ayres. Being called to play one of the most notorious villains of Dragon Ball Z must bring with it extreme pressure, but Ayres delivers in his performance of Frieza. Despite having great action and voice acting, there's a lack of tension during any scenes that didn't involve any fighting. It seems like the dialogue between characters was more light-hearted than anything serious. There are only a handful of times outside of any physical conflict, where any real tension is felt. The entire film just seems focused on fighting. In other words, Resurrection 'F' seems to made as a fan service for those that just enjoy fight sequences. It may be appealing to fans to watch Goku battle it out once again against Frieza, but Resurrection 'F' lacks any meaningful punch once the dust settles. For all intents and purposes the fighting and action is some of the best to come from the Dragon Ball Z series. It should be on any fans must watch list. At the same time though, Resurrection 'F' doesn't seem to lead the series as a whole in any direction. I wonder what it is that Toriyama has planned for Dragon Ball. We'll just have to wait and see.

Although the fight was pretty good everything felt off.First of all they chose to resurrect Freeza. The problem is that Goku has fought a ton of stronger foes in that time and yet F is just a danger? Really? He barely could beat child Goku when confronted in hell with the help of Cell. And now is like uber-strong. Goku defeated the dragons and almost everything in between. I bet his grad daughter could beat Frieza. Also there was no buildup, the characters of the destroyer and his servant were just fillers, Whisp's comments made no sense whatsoever as well as his ability to turn back time. Also the fight was boring. No suspense no turns of situation. It just wasn't DBZ . It was just bad fan fiction.
