I'll tell you why so serious

It's hard to see any effort in the film. There's no comedy to speak of, no real drama and, worst of all.

It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

This movie is absolutely boring. All it has is a lack of CGI as this movie is very dull and boring. It's not as worse than the Fantastic Four 2015 film. The animation was so godawful. I only watched it once and one time is absolutely enough. Do not ever watch this stupid movie. It will ruin your brain.

For me is the best animated movie, it teaches you to keep the Nature and respect her. All the colors and details are amazing, and the story too. Just watch the movie and let your mind and heart be satisfied.I don't care if the movie don't win enough money or the story was awful, i only care of the story and the colors and the people of the forest, i really want to live in a world like that. This movie is for kids and grown ups, you really enjoy the movie i guarantee you will be grateful. I watch this movie with my family and girlfriend, and all of they liked so much. Don't know that this movie came up in 2013, but for me is better that other movies in real life, this one have more interest in preserving the nature.

Animation wise this is very good and it is a really beautiful film, the contrast between big and small and the effects of the giant "creatures" moving slow and talking slow works very well.It might not be so epic as the title would suggest, but it is very enjoyable for kids and grownups alike, there is more for the kids here and that is very reasonable, but also a few word plays that pan out better for the adult audience.I think all the bi-characters in this film make it very fun, they almost controls all the funny scenes and have a lot of goofy remarks and weird happenings.

Being a minority, I actually read The Leaf Men and the Brave Good Bugs (great book by the way), and when I saw this movie I felt disappointed. Again the minority, but I am the only one disapproving this movie for what it did to its source material. It paid no homeage to William Joyce, and didn't even end with a spider queen end credits scene like I expected it to halfway through the movie. Now about the movie. Getting nothing but the leaf men from the book, and turning them into a community of forest police, this movie felt bland. Things like mkay's dead mom and rembembering her again and again, and her bonding with nod about his dead parent. Why the hell do we need to know that?! Nod feels extremely unnecessary as ronin could have easily covered for him. Along with the Jar Jar Binks slug characters, unnecessary notions to characters we need to know nothing about, and sad fails at humor all this movie has is decent animation. This movie strays so far from the plot while already being in it, it is frustrating. You know this movie is trying to get you to like it with celebrity voice actors playing tiny parts, potty humor, and relateable characters and stories. The only reason I give this movie a 4 instead of 1 is because the "other dimension" thing with the bugs and forest life is clever, along with other tie-ins through small characters. I highly suggest you don't watch this movie unless you have a 3 year old who this movie is trying to impress.
