princebansal1982 I have started watching Turkish movies just recently. I have watched "Babam Ve Oglum" and Mutluluk and both were amazing. So, I decided to watch more Turkish movies. But frankly this was a huge disappointment. This movie has a very high rating and I just can't understand why. I never laughed once. There are some comedy movies which I don't like but at least you can guess why others might have liked it. Maybe it is black comedy or it is too slapstick for my taste or something like that. Here I couldn't get anything.I thought that I was the only one who disliked it, but I saw the top 1000 voters and they have given it an average rating of 5.2. Maybe Turkish humor is too quaint for outsiders. or Maybe it is just lost in translation, I don't know.
kazamm This movie is the first one by Cem Yilmaz, unquestionably the most popular and funniest stand-up comedian. He portrays one of the funniest characters in the recent Turkish movie history and the on screen chemistry between the two main characters (who by the way, are also friends off camera) is amazing. It appears as if all the movie was taken in one shot, since all the characters are genuinely sincere, and they even do some mistakes especially in some 1-1 dialogs. These imperfections make the movie truly unique and enjoyable. It's worth watching over and over, since all the dialogs are marvelous and thoughtfully written by Cem Yilmaz, himself. Deserves a **** (out of 4)
meria_c this movie especially among the youth have become something of the rule that should be watched over and over.. although i've done it only once i can understand the great desire for it till the young guy called Altan is a very popular comedian.. but, i must say that the other one is a well-known performer in turkey, and performed very well in the movie too.. if you want to see something about turkey rather than any political aspect or any middle-east smelling one, you should take a look at this comedy passing through urban life, sure this life has many "faults" , but if not, how could it be a real comedy?
nikmikyok I didnt laugh at all. there are some funny scenes, but they already put those scenes into trailer. if you saw the trailer, you can assume that you saw the film. absolutely pointless... not even funny. same jokes over and over again.. mazhar alanson has an awful performance which ruins the film most. cem yilmaz only plays his real character, he didn't act actually. only person who deserves respect in this film is Selim Nasit Ozcan.
