The owner of a factory that produces flavor extracts, Joel Reynold seems to have it all, but really doesn't. What's missing is sexual attention from his wife, Suzie. Joel hatches a convoluted plan to get Suzie to cheat on him, thereby clearing the way for Joel to have an affair with Cindy, an employee. But what Joel doesn't know is that Cindy is a sociopathic con artist, and a freak workplace accident clears the way for her to ruin Joel forever.

Nonureva Really Surprised!
Huievest Instead, you get a movie that's enjoyable enough, but leaves you feeling like it could have been much, much more.
Dynamixor The performances transcend the film's tropes, grounding it in characters that feel more complete than this subgenre often produces.
Billie Morin This movie feels like it was made purely to piss off people who want good shows
benaboo This is not a super memorable movie but it's funny and has a great cast. Obviously most people are going to dig Office Space more than this. Office Space is a good movie and is definitely more memorable. I thought this movie had a great cast. Jason Bateman was great in it. I'm not a fan of Mila Kunis. Kristen Wiig was fine. The presence of J.K. Simmons was great. I liked Ben Affleck's presence but he could have played his role better. I thought he was too restrained. He should have played the role as Chuckie Sullivan as a stoner, but I still liked him. David Koechner to me was the closest thing to an Office Space character. This movie's soundtrack was very entertaining and much better than Office Space. I would much rather listen to She's All I Got by Johnny Paycheck, I Thank You by ZZ Top, and Rainy Day Woman by Waylon Jennings than any of the rap music from Office Space. This movie is forgettable but I still like it.
Tim Little Firstly, if you watch this expecting a comedy you're likely to be sorely disappointed.Secondly, you are unlikely to find a more unpleasant, unsympathetic bunch of characters in many other movie. From the boss of a small 'extract' company (whatever that is) who sets up his easy wife with a dumb-and-dumber pool cleaner to the selfish, lazy, lower-than- average intelligence factory workers there is not one character that 'extracted' an ounce of sympathy or empathy from this viewer. The irritating next door neighbour is the closest this film approaches to comedy but thats not close, maybe the next county. Acting performances are adequate but, (did I imagine it) it's almost possible to detect the embarrassment among the cast over their involvement in this unappetising offering.Unusually, it is Ben Affleck alone who is able to make something of the material available to him in the form of a drug dealing, hippy barman. It's not much though, and not nearly enough. The plot is trite and ludicrous. The stock Hollywood happy endings round everything off nicely - for everybody except the viewer who is left wondering what the point of this film was - as it seems to fail on all levels.
rick_maskell92 In a star studded lineup, the film follows Joel (Jason Bateman), the proud owner of an extract company he built from the ground up. Life seems to be going as per normal, when issues begin to arise and spiral quickly out of control from all aspects of his life. The film also focuses on Cindy (the stunning Mila kunis) who's life of petty crime intercepts Joel's and his company through a series of events leading up to it. The film was not only written by Mike Judge, but also directed by him. In no disrespect to Mike, its a very simple and slow paced movie, with no twists and turns, action or fancy shots; but on the same token, doesn't require any for it to still be an enjoyable watch. I feel Mike's aim was to relate with the viewer, as it follows a normal guy, who OK, does drive a nice car, has a big house and owns a successful business - which not all of us have the privilege to boast - but nonetheless falls into difficult times through no fault of his own. There's not too many people who haven't been in a relationship that at some point has soured and lead to temptation, nor has someone not been exposed to wrong doings by others. And everyone's had or unfortunately still has an annoying neighbour, played very amusingly by David Coechner (better known as Champ Kind in Anchorman.)It times like this when we turn to our friends, which in Joel's case was to Dean (Ben Affleck) who although polar opposite in his outlook on life, provides some strange but tangible advise that seems to only make things worse at first. If you're expecting a clean cut Ben Affleck in this film, then you'll be mistaken. Think long hair, a beard and a hippie personality and you'll be closer to the mark.Although slow and somewhat predictable, it provides a generous amount of subtle humour throughout, which at times will simply put a smile on your face but at others will have you in stitches of laughter. Combined with a down to earth story line (which ends in true Hollywood fashion) will leave you in good spirits after a pleasurable 92 minutes of viewing. The eye candy provided by Mila doesn't go a miss either!
OJT I wasn't planning either to see this, or to review it, but I still both sat down watching if, and after that I frog I had to put down some words. It's starts off cozy enough, but then it gets very boring, and looks like it's going to be another stupid comedy with sexual explicit language and "fun" which I hard, because it's in too many of these Hollywood comedies, and that I find it boring. However, after the first half (I'm afraid it's almost that long before it gets interesting) it sucks you in. This is dud to good acting, and some great little roles, like agent Simmons as a lawyer.I finally got some greats laughs, and that makes me give this a 6/10. Better than most such comedies.
